Sam Kinnison's routine about living in a desert comes to mind.

Do you think the illegals will go home when there aren't any crops to pick.

Also, let’s try and MAKE a desert grow fruits, nuts, and vegetables…. Can’t fix stupid………. Not a drop of water from the mighty Colorado has made its way to the ocean in many decades….

Someday you'll invade Canada for the water. Look into the Ogallala Aguifer, it is depleting rapidly. Too much drought, too many people, too much irrigation, a big problem is coming. Groundwater systems are in severe decline. I'm sure all of the AI data centers will help.

A lot of corn is grown where it shouldn't be grown. Can'r survive without irrigation.
