So full disclosure I've only seen otter in a zoo or already on the stretcher. Also I am reasonably sure that I've never trapped or even lived in a region that had an open season on them.

Buuuuuttttt! This is social media and if an great otter man (or woman) the kind who is so good other trappers will buy books and videos from them would be willing to share a tip here (or start a new thread on the subject) please do so I can stir up some drama...

. As Boone Lane termed it the amount of "ignorance in the arrogance" knows no boundaries and I'd like to correct them, call their tip dumb, or otherwise go negative and imply that I know more about it than they do.

I promise I will NOT just scroll on by or resist the urge to be negative you can count on me!

Isn't social media grand?

LL,
You should've drove over to Georgia last weekend and watched my otter demo. Could've swung way up to Ohio and got Killbuck to come with you.

You can "neck" down an otter set muck like a cat set.

LMBO @ Swamp Wolf!
I'd have loved to have caught that but if I had to drive thru OH you can bet I'd have been there to drop somethin off not do any kind of pickin up.

On 2nd thought I could have listened to all 5 bobcat stories and still have a dab of windshield time to absorb knowledge from basically a walkin, talking, lippin off human copy of tge Webster dictionary!

Maybe Killbuck will chime in about how a walk-through with duck feathers won't work for otter or cats. And a turd will completely ruin the set.

Turd wont ruin the set. Piece of garden hose might. Have never set for otter either but caught one in a caster mound set. That's a beaver set, look it up.

Otter are predictable in their travel.
If an otter uses a travel route once it and others will use the same path.
Blind setting for otter is paydirt when you locate their travel pathways.Same spots will produce year after year.
