I am at a dead end folks. I have been doing some coyote adc work for a feed yard the past week and I still have nothing. I've tried dirthole sets, flat sets, and sent posts. This is my 3rd year coyote trapping and it has never been this much of a grind. What I am dealing with on this property is a trespasser running coyote dogs, and weather that goes from 70 degrees to 25 degrees. I know the coyotes are there, I am setting on sign and I see tracks in the set. Anyone have any old tricks up their sleeves that will get these coyotes to commit?

Thanks

Are you trying to catch the trespassers dogs? Or the coyotes he's after?

To me it sounds like the coyotes are making a circuit and may not have come around yet. That happens here for me and understandably it can get quite frustrating. This is common with lower coyote population in large areas. It may take another week or so for them to come back but meanwhile make sure your sets continue to be in good working order. Perhaps set up a trail cam or two to help you see whats going on.

I am attempting to catch the coyotes not the trespassers dogs. I am trapping outside of the feed yard do to all the human activity that goes on in the yard. I am trapping the roads they use to get in the yard and they walk by my sets everyday.

You may have too much lure at the set?

It's all about sex right now. Snare if you can. Just pee no lure. I have had real good luck using the stomach contents of yotes in my dirt holes when they start ignoring sets. Go deep on the dirt holes if you can. The deeper the better. Make them put their nose in the hole.

Who knows who's chasing them at night as well. Hang in there if you can.

Try some well blended blind sets.
