Jacks OP trapper J Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 983 Bemidji, MN	My 15 year old may tag washer is giving my poor wife troubles. Before we get to diagnosing the problem, I have tried to replace it for her with a washboard and it was real clear were not making that comment again. The washer will will fill with water it won't agitate and gets hot smelling, we can make it spin and drain the water but the spinning noise sounds badand and smell hot.

H2ORat trapper H Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 2,462 Oregon	if it is a front load check the bearings on the drum shaft, my neptune had similar problems a few years back-- by the way they are not the most service friendly things to change and be sure and check the outer tub to make sure it hasn't worn a hole in it from the bad bearings.

TurkeyTime trapper T Joined: Jan 2014 Posts: 2,108 NW MO	Had a top load Kenmore that would have a hard rubber piece go bad. Search Kenmore/maytag motor coupler. If that is it then it is easy and cheap.
