Any suggestions on what to use to make my own speed bumps to put in the street? School zone and Grandkids playing. Danged vehicles need to slow down.

Doubt by law you can block the roadway with anything you might need to go through the City/County. They make a plastic bump about a foot wide and it goes across almost curb to curb.

Put a tin star on your t shirt, wear a cowboy hat, sit in a lawn chair with a blow dryer and point it at passing cars. Homemade speed trap.

Most city streets around here are so filled with pot holes speed bumps would be redundant.

And those Children at Play signs. Then sit in your lawn chair with baseball bat and ball in hand.

Best I've ever seen is in Centennial Wyoming. An old white car with two red coffee cans on the roof. Been there for 40 yrs and always on duty! Works well.

Thinking a old metal gutter would make a nice form for that bump! Might shake a few teeth loose on the weak minded ones too.

I can't help you with that but what I did was to take an old bicycle and turn it upside down on the side of the road. Makes them think.

I don't know the price, but you can buy hard rubber sipped bumps. They sell them for speed ranges; faster would be not as tall and slower would be higher.

Get a bunch of guineas.

About two dozen or so.

Let them run amock.

Tell your neighbors you don't know where they came from, but you think they are in danger of going extinct.

It may not solve your problem, but it should be fun to see how things transpire.
