Here's what we had last night.

In a large kettle add oil, garlic and onions heat until onions are transparent.
Add barley, carrots, zucchini, cabbage, water, parsley and bay leaf bring to boil.
Simmer until barley is tender.
Add sugar, salt, pepper, and tomatoes cook 15 minutes longer then serve.

Tonight I think she's making a spicey italian potato kale soup.

I've yet to have fried eggplant that was decent.

Lots of bean burritos for lunch.

Bread eggplant like fish (flour, then egg, then saltine cracker crumbs) and fry in hot Crisco. You will like it.

Not catholic, but I find it very interesting that the pope has given beaver and muskrat the A-O-K during lent.

Save veggies for side dishes. Eat beaver!

Maybe frog too!

Don't several south american countries have a huge problem with beaver right now two birds one stone , encourage people to feed themselves on a pest plaguing the environment.
