I was at an invasive species workshop yesterday. 1 of the instructors makes walking sticks out of buckthorn. They're incredibly light weight, and apparently very strong; and quick/easy to peel the bark with a knife. It made me think: I bet they'd work good for drowning rod anchors, snare supports, or maybe conibear stabilizers.
