Very nice, that’s like winning the lotto, great area over there for big bear....
My buddies brother waited 13-14 years, he killed one that I think went around 500-600lbs....I’ll ask him today at work on the details...
Thought I was a good trapper until I started trapping coyotes......
Thought I was a good bowhunter until I targeted mature bucks....

I know there is plenty of state land to hunt in that unit but what I am looking for is privet land with undisturbed bears. I have relatives in Lake county so I will not have a problem finding a place to stay. I will also be retired by then so I have lots of time to invest in the hunt. This is a once in a lifetime hunt so I am hoping to get on a big bear. I am willing to pay a trespass fee if needed.

Nice. I just got back from irons last night, spent a long weekend up there. My daughter had four bear, a sow and three cubs cross in front if her driving from Dublin to Irons on Saturday.
That is a tough unit to get a permit for. We only have three cabins on a small lake and no acreage or I would set you up
Never best hunted there so I can not even point you in the right direction. Best of luck to you

Ambush. That is a nice bear. Looking to do a hunt on my own. I'd like to do all the work and process a bear, should i be lucky enough to get one.

Didn't get a permit this year. Buddy didn't either. 8 points. I do know a guy that has got a permit the last three years in a row. Wanna guess why.
Don't do anything you don't want to explain to the paramedics. I do appreciate a good story tho.
