If 2 got away David, you either need to practice or get closer for the snake shot to work........or are you just using the tater rake?

Seen a cottonmouth once in MS. dove hunting. It was 4' long, big around as a pepsi can and had its head shot off. And it was still a scary looking snake.

WISH I HAD MORE TIME TO TRAP!

One was on a dam the others are where I am working. I don't go looking for them but if they are hanging around where I am, they will be taking a trip else where. July and Aug they are giving birth. I don't think I will be wearing shorts in this swamp. My dog ain't going back either.

Hope your getting paid enough. I'm doing a beaver job in an area that gives me the chills in this heat. Sure gets the spidy senses into high gear. Packing heat this time of year takes on a whole new meaning. Summer time trapping sucks. That's way I get paid the money I do. Come on winter. Sarge

Wow, I've killed a lot of cottonmouths in our swamps but only one was 48 inches. That's a big snake. The bottom one looks a little different than the others. Be careful!

Dang David, you're into them. I saw one today over near that VOA site today that was nearly the size of that biggun. I left the gun in the truck because I was setting traps, and it moseyed on away before I could get there with my tater rake. I'll be packing my pistol in there tomorrow.

Scuba, new generation of beaver. Leaner, meaner and sharper teeth. New market for hides?????? A whole lot easier to skin and flesh. Sarge
