So I have driven through Nevada, Arizona, Texas and Oaklahoma. But when I get to Kansas I see my first armadillo dead on the road. Not just one but about a dozen. Is Kansas the land of the Dillo?

Seems that the state is getting that way. I saw my first live on in 1998, the last few years they have become quit common in my area.

15 years ago we did not have them. We are coming to the end of a 18 year dry warm cycle. When we are cold they don’t survive. They need to eat insects year round, and when the ground freezes solid they all die.

I went to the range today and saw half a dozen "sleeping" on the side of the roads. We got loads of them here in the low country of SC

And you all are not doing a good job keeping them down there. Quite a few showing up in NC now also.

Anyone else witnessed them out on snow trying to forage? Darnedest thing I've seen. Have pictures tucked back somewhere.

Saw quite a few last winter when it would be colder than heck and then get a day with sunshine and they would be out. Still below freezing but they would come out while the sun was out.

Might be south of the Missouri river, but not north of it. Haven't seen one yet up here.

Did you not see any in Oklahoma? They're thick as grass here.

Wait until you hit one at highway speed... You'll swear you just ran over a bowling ball.
