Cats have to be kept hungry to really get them to hunt mice. But it's a better deal to keep your cats fed and healthy and just trap the dang mice.

My housecat hunts them strictly for the sport of it. If a mouse finds its way into the house, that cat will forego everything else to hunt it down and kill it. It will lay for hours waiting for the mouse to make its move.It never gives up, always gets the kill.

Big brownie my cat scooter does the exact same things except when she grabs one and brings in the man cave (proud as heck she drops it and then I have to trap the mouse) been great entertainment over the years
