Have you tried salt for bait, or as a lead in attractor?

No I have not, unionized? Just sprinkle or mix with water and spray? Great idea I'm gonna try it

I've never trapped rabbits, but I plan on shooting a few in the morning!

When life gets me down..... you know hunting/trapping season is closed.

Hey just run an apple around the entrance and throw to the back put about a table spoon of table salt in thru the trigger hole solid wooden back works but the 1” sq wire for the back works best set trap then scratch the ground up at the entrance a lil and make sure box doesn’t rock any can’t speak for the wire cages have never caught one in them but if you shoot me a text I will take a pic of the absolute best rabbit trap there is it will catch rabbits any time of the year but the box traps are working now 1-804-240-3740

I got an incidental in a bobcat cubby baited with beaver one time. Also got one out of the garden with a wire (fisher) cubby baited with apples and carrots.

Always snare rabbits, never bothered trying to trap them.Lay out lots of snares in their runs, you can harvest quite a few in a short time.

I've noticed that I will pick up incidental rabbits in sets lured with anything castor based.

Just an observation. Not a suggestion.

We got a lot of them in our cages for coon and cats. Seem to be attracted to urines and any baits with grain base like some of our coon baits have.
Set on location, very easy to find bunny runs in snow. Put opening right at the edge of the run, cover up the trap if possible like with grasses, sticks, evergreen branches, etc. So it's more like a tunnel. We used small 7" opening and also some coon sized cages one year and caught limits of rabbits easily doing this. We used apples, parsnips, potatoes, and believe it or not they really like a good minty piercing smell type muskrat lure.
110s blind sets in bunny runs are great too.
Had plenty of rabbits that year to both eat and bait cat sets with.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
