This man was a sociopathic terrorist anarchist and the ARA think of him as a Saint. He acted with the same desire for 15 minutes of fame as a serial killer that holds society in contempt when they finely get captured..

Negotiation Is Over (Blog)
Candlelight Vigil in Memory of Animal Liberator Barry Horne
November 3, 2009
http://negotiationisover as pukes anonymous practice their brand of anti social behavior
On Thursday, November 5, 2009, animal liberation activists around the
world will commemorate the anniversary of the passing of Barry Horne
on November 5, 2001. We ask that each and every animal advocate, no
matter where you consider yourself on the continuum of activism, from
animal welfare to animal liberation, take a minute to reflect on the
life and actions of a man who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave his
life for animal liberation. As you plan and carry out your activism
keep Barry in your thoughts and in your heart. If you are close to New
York City, please join us for a candlelight vigil to honor a champion
of animal liberation.

Date/Time: November 5, 2009 @ 6:30 PM
Meet at: Union Square, New York City
Meet in front of Whole Foods
(If you get there late, call 646-267-9934)

“Barry Horne was a caring, compassionate individual who campaigned for
animals for many years. Although he campaigned in various ways, direct
action and animal liberation were the methods he favoured. Barry was
imprisoned for a campaign of ALF bomb attacks on targets involved in
animal abuse.

Whilst in prison during the late 90`s he embarked on a series of
hunger strikes in an effort to pressurise the government to honour
their pre-election promise to set up a Royal Commission into the
fraudulent `science` of vivisection. His hunger strikes created world
wide publicity for the cause. Animal testing was headline news day
after day for weeks on end. His third hunger strike pushed his body to
the limits and he was very close to death. After 68 days Barry ended
his hunger strike believing that government ministers had again
promised enough to satisfy his demands.

Once again the government failed to keep their promises. Despite
knowing his body had already been caused irreversible damage from that
third hunger strike, he embarked on another. After 2 weeks without
food he died in Worcester hospital on November 5th 2001.” (Reprinted

The AR fruitcakes like to believe that Horne died from one of his hunger strikes. But, the fact is, Horne was 45 years old before he ever began his first hunger strike, and he probably died from liver failure brought on by alcoholism.

In other words, he was just another violent drunk who killed himself.

Lots of us are sociopathic to one degree or another. Including plenty of us. That by itself does not make one a bad apple.

I don't think you understand what Sociopath mans CJB...
Think Hannibal Lector types...
Jeffery Dahmer...
John Wayne Gacy...
Hitler...

Sociopaths are fully capable of serial rape, murder, dismemberment, cannibalism, terrorism and crimes against humanity in general.

I hope you meant "anti-social". That's a whole 'nother thing!

Sociopaths are of multiple levels and the beginning levels start with varying degrees of non conformity only. After that you start stirring in increasing types of other mental conditions and tendencies to get to the "monster" types that are world renown for their deeds. You don't go from Ward Clever to Charlie Manson in one hop. I suppose I'm 'capable' of murder, I suppose I could eat a 'medium rare slice of your hinie' sandwich if need be, I suppose that should my country be overrun by another I'm capable of what some would call 'terrorism', I suppose I'm 'capable' of many extreme behaviors. So for 46 years I've been a nut job and did not know it?

Sociopathy symptoms and definition:

not learning from experience
no sense of responsibility
inability to form meaningful relationships
inability to control impulses
lack of moral sense
chronically antisocial behavior
no change in behavior after punishment
emotional immaturity
lack of guilt
self-centeredness

People with this disorder may exhibit criminal behavior. They maynot work. If they do work, they are frequently absent or may quit
suddenly. They do not consider other people's wishes, welfare or
rights.
They can be manipulative and may lie to gain personal
pleasure or profit. They may default on loans, fail to provide child
support, or fail to care for their dependents adequately. High risk
sexual behavior and substance abuse are common. Impulsiveness,
failure to plan ahead, aggressiveness, irritability, irresponsibility,
and a reckless disregard for their own safety and the safety of
others are traits of the antisocial personality.

Simply put, a sociopath is born without a conscience.

After looking at Hawkeye's list;I suddenly feel much better about myself. Still I'd bet a handful of those traits could be assigned to most folks.

Most sociopaths are much like Beavis and Butthead. Criminal, callous, and stupid.

They start fires at an early age. Or they torture animals. They are the kind of kid that could light his baby sister's room on fire, watch the cradle burn, exit the house and go play somewhere without telling anybody.

NO conscience, just like Hawkeye said. They'd never, ever feel guilty or bad about the incident a day in their life. If confronted about causing a fire that burned his sister to death, he'd be upset at being CONFRONTED. Not about what happened. They are utterly without remorse. Thankfully, less than 5% of people on earth are sociopaths. Most of them are caught early in their childhood crimes. Most of them lack the intelligence to plan a crime ahead (so they don't get caught,) and to plan to act like a normal person so that they blend in with society.

The really, really scary ones are the ones that are intelligent enough to blend in. While they are not always violent, they often are prone to violence. Sometimes they encourage people to participate in it, even if they won't be violent themselves. (Think Charles Manson.) They are still as they were in childhood, able to kill someone or torture someone without blinking.

Quote:
Hawkeye, you just described most politicians.

Often, those sociopaths that are this intelligent DO become involved in politics and religion. They don't have any morals, and so they chose a "set" of morals that they think will give them some power, and espouse them publicly. They become eloquent and smooth talking liars. Having no reason to feel guilty or remorseful about lying makes them incredibly convincing and even charming. No hint of deception is evident on their face, nothing but conviction in their voice.

When they become cult leaders, politicians, presidents, chairmen, authors, radical clerics, terrorists, and other influential extremists, the damage they do to society is 10x what it would be if they were just some old serial killer preying on a handful of individuals.

When a sociopath becomes the champion of an extremist group, and then becomes celebrated as a hero, it's really bad. This Horne fellow was into fire bombing (I wonder how many fires he lit as a child?) and that tells you something. His suicide in prison probably has more to do with a feeling of not wanting to live in confinement anymore. Portraying himself as a self-sacrificing and dedicated, ethical individual is just a last political coup-de-gracie. One thing is certain; sociopaths don't do anything for anyone else.

He didn't commit suicide in prison. He died of liver failure long after his last hunger strike.
