Anyone get muscovy duck calls? Mind sharing methods? I always get called to them after someone has been shooting at them, trapping them and trying to throw casting nets at them. Now I come onto the property and they stay a couple hundred yards away. Used to do the goose roundup up north. Not sure that would work with these critters. I'm losing my pants on most of these jobs. Some are simple and quick but 90% are horrible. Any suggestions? I guess PM if need be?

I just made a big trap like I used to use up north. Just getting them to walk in the funnel hasn't worked yet.

Thanks!

Ya I do I just talk to much I'm told but seeing no one else will I will , to catch ducks you just feed them into a pen , first feed them outside the pen ,then buy the door of the pen , then feed them in the pen ,then after a week of this feeding them you just shut the door on them , you might need a long rope and a duck blind . I grew up watching my neighbor catch 300 ducks at a time with this method , he raised them on these ponds then would dress and sell them , I would make sure every duck is in the pen before you shut the door , once these ducks see your the one bring them all this food every day there eyes will light up at your sight , one thing domestic ducks do is eat . It will work trust me I'm telling you straight ,

They are just like pigeons and pesky is right, lots of pre baiting. You will most likely not get hired for most because of price but remember things like this are labor intensive and gas, bait and your time isnt free so charge accordingly. I dont know the cost of things in your area but here for a 3 week job with say 50 ducks I would have to be between 4500 and 5k to make it somewhat proffitable. That turns most folks away right there but like I always say I can go broke sitting on the couch drinking beer just as easy as I can working my tail off for free.

it is not a stupid question if you do not know the answer

Thanks for the info. Sometimes I wonder if I should just write them off. Yeah, I'm getting ripped off. I did a job with over 100 ducks for 3500. Ended up being simple though. Worked just like a goose roundup.

Well, not banned but I don't believe that you can buy or inport more. Nor can I "relocate" them unless it's to a place that keeps them caged up.

I was also attacked by one in a barnyard. I've gotta tell you though, that duck didn't do near the damage to me as I did to the one on the supper table!
