i charge a per job price no matter how many beaver. X dollars for ever how many days i think it will take me to get them all. you will have some jobs where you catch a bunch of em and think the per beaver charge would be better, but then you get that one where you have a smart one or they just don't cooperate and it takes you multiple trips to nab one or two. for me the set flat rate price works better--and the customer also knows exactly how much it will cost.

One thing you might want to consider and investigate prior to submitting a bid is how many other competitors have been in there attempting to trap the beavers before the complaintant contacted you. That combined with your costs and built in profit should determine your price - not the going rate. If you want to base your bid on the going rate you shouldn't be in business for very long. Are your skill sets the same as every body else's or are you better or worse than all of your competitors? Plus what will your market bear as far as pricing? Then it is just a matter of can you work for what the market will bear.

What kind of problems are the city having . There's other ways to deal with beaver other than removing . The city might think its to much what ever price you give. Just getting your name down at city hall is great advertising . So even if don't make any money off the city it could come back ten fold . Back a couple of years ago there was some city's around here looking for a coyote trapper . Are prices were to high . And I'm thinking 5 bucks would have been to much . So what I did is just had out cards to the people that answered the phones and that worked well for all kinds of differnt animal jobs . They like having a answer for there callers . Might even get them and there family and friends . I manage a property were there's beaver and we do trap some of the beaver but leave seed . I put drain pipes threw the dams into a wire basket out in front of the dams I can control the water hight . We want the water for the ducks, geese, muskrats, frogs, fish, but they would flood out the deer, rabbits, coons, if I didn't have this sigh-fin system in place .

They are damming up some drainage streams in a big neighborhood. I believe they are coming from a pond that is on one side of the neighborhood. I have to go tomorrow and they are going to show me where they are having problems. I think im going to have to set the streams with 330s and lure them from to pond. Got to order some Backbreaker and gonna try some Beaver Plus also.

HA HA no kidding, i figured i would try 280's and hopefully not have to worry with them, oh well, still caught just as many, only they were smaller, finally just had to use snares and footholds and leave the dam crossovers alone.

I start out at 250 and 100 per and adjust up to what I think might go wrong or limits on tools your able to use. I also have a few good beaver trappers I contract with and I try to go with them a lot just to learn and enjoy the conversation.
Plus if your not a very good beaver trapper you can be costing your customer 1000 dollars per day in damages and trees that might take 50 to 100 years to replace. If your not a beaver trapper don't take the job unless you can get a helper. Then it is ethical to take the job.
The good thing about these helpers is they are not going to be your competitor. They tell me ok I'll doit but I don't want to talk to anybody. They aren't very tolerant of people who until the beaver started causing them problems thought all beaver should be left alone for all to enjoy.
If you are a beaver trapper I apoligize for getting off the pricing question.
If you catch a turtle count your blessings, say your blessings and enjoy him with some friends.

I removed some beaver from an area for a friend that lives in the neighborhood and thats how I got the job. I have never charged for it because I enjoy it but with the weather so hot I dont enjoy it as much.
