Apparently the latest method for capturing squirrels is not by the hole or on the roof or on the ground or the fence, but in the trees. We just got a call from one of our favorite franchise's customers. He was asking if we set our squirrel traps in the trees to catch the squirrels in his attic. We said that we only do that if the customer wants every squirrel in the block caught. He is not happy.

I assume the other company bills per animal?

That would not be legal here . Now if there causing damage to the trees ,like cutting off pine branches for nesting that's differnt . If we're talking about the same nation wide company , they do other things I would say is not legal . Like using bat board . A bat board is just a gaint glue board . They place this bat board just below the gable vent . Once one bat gets stuck it will call out for help and the rest will come crawling in . Also not doing there pickups for two days because there to bizzy or closed on Sunday .

Pesky, you got me with the "Closed On Sundays". I believe we're talking about the same company. ( And I used to have a lot of respect for them ) You may not write that well, but there's certainly nothing wrong with your reading abilities!

Had a muskrat job yesterday where they fired that big named company as they caught no muskrats. Job was easy to set up very obvious holes and runs. Client said they had caught 1 muskrat one weekend but said it was Sunday and they didn't feel like coming out.

I pointed out the obvious signs and set them and they were very happy to pay my fees

Hey Mike, I know again, exactly who you're speaking of. In our state, that's illegal and I will do my best to get them tossed if I can prove it happened here! Don't get the wrong impression; I can go to church on Thursdays or Saurdays and God doesn't really care, as long as I behave the rest of the week!

I am still trying to figure out how they do this job without stepping foot into an attic? I still get numerous calls from customers who ask me to come get the babies out of their attic because "the large company" said they will not enter an attic.

I like taking the work from them, I hate them venting to me that they are paying me to do what they already paid "them" to do.

Nate, I was told that both the Humane Society and the DNR had a little chat with them last year about leaving all those babies stranded. If they keep it up this year I think another call to the DNR is in order. They're giving us all a bad name. Some jobs are hard enough with out having to get babies that were intentionally left.
