I just picked one up and was wondering who all uses then to navigate around and what you think of them.

dew, we got a lot of Garmins but I'm not sure about the 50 im. I do know that most of our techs wouldn't be able to find their way out of bed in the morning without their Garmins.

I've been all around the country and been taken right to the door. In Maine places where there ere only dirt roads it knew everything taking me back to the cabin at the end of the day. My speedometer went haywire and I was able to use it as a speedometer. When I tell someone I'm on the way I can tell them practically to the second how long I'll be.
You need gas, restaurant, motel, hospital it will take you there.
Until I started writing I didn't realize all it did for me and how much I owe it.
I think I'm going to take that woman with the British accent inside the garmin out to eat.
The only compaint I have is when you don't do something she says she won't shut up. If I was sleeping with her maybe I could tolerate it better. I know my wifes witchen "used" to be more tolerable

Sleep'n with an animal..I can help.
Do not use both feet when testing the depth or temperature of the water

Okay, here's where Mr. Brooker and I part company. You can take all those British accents and stick 'em where the sun don't shine. It's hard enough trying to figure out what the so-called American announcer said, without sticking in some cockneyed accent!

We have both Garmin and TomTom.

Pros and cons of both.

Biggest pro of the Tomtom is the cross street feature. Address don't show up you just plug in the closest cross streets and it will get you to that intersection. Biggest pro of the Garmin is the voice command. I can just say the address and it will put it in for you.

Biggest con with the Garmin is it starts with the house numbers, then street name. From that it guesses what city you want from every city in State or Region. Kinda a pain when you have to scroll down the list to find your city.

Biggest con with the Tomtom is that it never seems to take you the same route twice. Really seems to pick the route it wants to take randomly.

I will continue to buy Garmin in the future even though I am pretty sure next time I need one the vehicles will all come with them standard.
