Snares. 24 guage brass wire. I believe I copied trapper Ron from the archives. Works like nothing else.

16 pound steel fishing line works just as well, if not better, than the brass wire IMHO.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

Most of the squirrels taken for pelts are pine or red squirrels. Not fox or gray squirrels. Realize that does't answer your question.

I used to skin and finish fox and grey squirrels both that were caught as incidentals during fur season. The going rate was $1-2.......gas money like most possums.

Red squirrels are furbearers with a nice fur and durable leather. They normally sell at auction for around $2 avg.The market for them has been depressed for the last few years with them selling for around a dollar.I have received as much as $4 in the past. They are normally used for linings in expensive mens leather coats. Some years they are extremely abundant.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
