I have decided to move a couple hundred ginseng plants to thin a bed a little and hopefully get plants growing in a couple more beds. I also want to move some goldenseal that survved from a place where most roots rotted to a better spot.

Have any of you moved the roots in the spring time? How successful is doing it at that time of year? Should I wait 'till the plants are well up or just after they break the surface? Or, should I forget about it and wait til the tops die back in the fall?

Thanks you, Ohbuyer II.
Do you think you will have any goldenseal root to sale for planting this year, spring or fall?
