I don't know how they do It but I've seen lots of tanned skunk hides with no yellow.

How do you know they didn't.
If I had a skunk that had a bit of yellow on It and I wanted to get It tanned. I would call the tannery and see If there was anything I could do to remedy the problem.

Surface dirt will wash off but mineral stains from prolonged contact with the minerals in the ground do not come out. At least, I have seen seen a method that would get them out. All of my skunks are dingy, some more so than others. Red and yellow clay will do that.

Try any of your house hold stain removers. I use OXY clean for removal of blood stains. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

My first skunk in years had a yellowish tint. I washed it with the Peroxide, baking soda and dish detergent, it did seem to get some out. Sent it out to be tanned, got it back... I don't know if they deliberately remove the yellowish tint or the process takes care of it, either way it is pure white now.
Let's go Brandon!

I wash all my skunks in a mixture of peroxide and dish soap prior to skinning, reason I do it us to get the stink off the pelt but it also cleans them up nice as well as helping with the yellowing
But most I catch are not really yellow either
Every day is a gift from GOD, don't waste it!!
If they have plenty of food, give them something interesting to smell
