What kind of sights do you use for predator hunting(scope, Open). Thermal scopes are not an option as they are illegal in PA. I wont shoot farther than 100 yards because my light doesn't shine farther than that, which is fine, I don't want to shoot farther than that. The lighting is medium most night's where I hunt. I have used a 223 with a scope and a 20 gauge shotgun.

Its hard to beat a red dot for most of the predator hunting I have around here, low light thick close in stuff.

it might help if you tell them your typical range , night , low light , what your mounting it on.

one guy may take nothing but 150-250 yard shots while another never goes outside 50 yards and both are predator hunting.

Single focal plane, no parralax. Illuminated dot with various settings are the benefits of a red dot sight.
Your choice of optics for predator hunting depend largely on how you hunt. Are illuminated reticals legal etc? Shotgun or rifle? Brushy close shots or more open terrain with longer shots possible?
All these things effect choice of best option.

Illuminated optics are allowed. I use both rifle and shotgun. Longer range is possible.

Reread your original post. Two to seven illuminated duplex reticle. Lower power better light gathering plenty of x for hundred yards.

And like MAArcher red dot on the shotgun or just the bead on the front.

I'm kind of an odd man out on this one. Currently my eyes are still pretty good ,so I prefer open sights even on my rifles .
The quick target acquisition , to me , trumps long range precision.

you'll end up shooting a Deer.

Let me clarify,
If your after Fox, they will come to shotgun range, no sense shooting further out and have trouble finding them at night.

Coyotes, if i was serious about hunting them, break of day and sunset would be my go to around here,
With a rifle. I'm not qualified on Yotes but have ran into a couple while fox hunting and that would be my stratagy for them if i did.

Experiment this winter doing different things, then next fall................

Start soon after season comes in and have these things..
Red light, doesn't have to be real bright.
Shotgun with #4 buckshot.
Greyfox pup tape, or my favorite a good mouth call and make rabbit distress sound. I use BOTH.
set-up on field edges (cornfields by far the best), tracter roads thru the field and woods, anyplace they like to run, call for 15 minutes and then move to a new spot. Get lots of spots lined up, you'll soon find out the good ones and the ones to forget about.
You'll have success.

The best system may be 1 guy with a rifle and the other guy carrying a shotgun, if hunting with a partner.
