How much snow is too much snow for you to keep trapping

When my quad won't go, I don't have a sled.

As long as I can bust the drifts I'm good to go, I can always move into the deep draws where the snow is more manageable if needed or set out big baits to limit my travel but still run a good amount of snares.

As long as I have snowshoes there is no limit.....other than my body

Couple yrs back I was trapping near waist deep with no snow shoes. Half would melt then another dumping. It wasn't bad after awhile as my trail (game trail) was packed.
The other part of my line was bad with snow as it's full of granite and crushed granite. Snow +crushed granite + cacti + steep incline = sketchy situations. That's when I wished we didn't have daily checks

Snow allows you to drive right up to the beaver.No carrying of heavy animals.

The snow doesn't bother us much (the little that we get). It's the freezing rain that ices up the roads and even locks up the snares that stops me.

Same here... Last night started with freezing rain, changed to sleet, changed to snow...
We got 6 inches of snow which is not that much, but the darned ice underneath it is tough. The gravel roads are an ice rink even with a 4 wheel drive.

I'm getting too old to be digging sleds out but three feet of snow hasn't stopped me yet.

I just purchased a quad with tracks. So far haven't found to much snow.

Thanks! An MB750 took the smallest beaver ever taken in the state. Has to be. Got him by both front feet.

So you took all the snow, I live in West Frankfort up north from you. All we got was a thin layer of ice and at best 1/4 inch of snow.

I haven't counted but around 76 flakes brings this island to a complete standstill.

No limit here. Why would there be?

Jwood and I are still slogging around on snowshoes chasing flat tails in our little corner of the world.

This is a deep snow years ago. Even an Alpine could struggle! Wet snow!

He said snow. I will go out one day in ice, lol..Seen if I can gather up some for my sweet tea.

This is not a normal January for Eastern Idaho. I would rather have ice and snow than the muddy dirt roads we now have.

Unfortunately that was 6 years ago and it hasn't been back since. I kind of miss plowing roads with a 750 dozer, blade full. 3 times that year.
