Socialism or Discrimination ?? - 01/13/18 02:59 AM
So wife went down and got the mail today. There were two official looking envelopes, one dressed to her, and one dressed to me. When she got home we opened them up. It was like Christmas all over again!! The envelopes contained government issued checks!! At first I thought it was a case of mistaken identity. Im not on the government dole, and neither is she. We do both volunteer for our local EMS, we get paid a whopping $3.50 for that gig, but those checks are direct deposited into our account.
Upon further investigation we realized what the checks were for........and I'm dead serious. The checks were for us driving ourselves into Whitehorse, which is 75 miles from our home. We had had this same thing happen 30-years ago but we had gone in and told them to take our name off that list. The lady looked at me like I had four eyes when I told her I didn't need government money to drive myself to town......she just didn't seem to get the fact that I CHOSE to live far far from town or why I wouldn't expect others to pay for it.
But thats not all. My wife check was for $100, mine was only $75. We live in the same house, we have the same address, we drive the same vehicle.....why was her check more??? I feel like its a cold cut case of discrimination!!
There are other questions that could be asked too, like why wouldn't they think we are smart enough to make any appointments on the same day since we live so far from town?? That would mean we rode together and our cost of getting to town would be cut in half.....They could have saved a few pennies by putting both checks in the same envelope too......and they wonder why our medical system is going broke!
Heres the letter that accompanied both checks.....remember this the next time you hear a socialist like Bernie....
