Would it be wrong - 01/16/18 08:27 PM

My neighbors dogs are mental and she doesn't know how to control/train them the things bark and jump on everything under the sun. They bark at me in my house. Thinking of buying 2 shock collars and just handing them to her and walking away. Would that make me a bad guy

Probably a waste of your time and money.

I would put the collars on her instead of walking away.

That is a big reason why I bought a farm years ago. If not I would most likely be in jail by now. I don't deal well with neighbors or folks in general that exercise poor judgment on a regular basis.

Its always handy to have a skill set that comes with consequences to those that need a reckoning so to speak. grin

If you haven't talked to her directly then you need to do that first. If nothing changes then I'd contact the sheriff with a complaint.

Not a smart move. She won't take the hint and you will be out the $. Keep in mind, she doesn't give a care that the dogs bother you.

If they are inside dogs you can make yourself up a nice roll on type of material that can find its way into her yard.

Some good ideas hear guys, there harmless just annoying she knows it bothers me she heard me yelling at the dogs one day and she called them in they don't listen to her because they run the show just like an undisciplined child. 2 labradoddles I just laugh when shes telling them to do something and they act like shes not there. There is no way she'd ever use a shock collar or discipline her dogs like I do mine, that listen to whoever tells them what to do. I'm no pro by any means but I know the definition of insanity

We must have the same neighbor. Mine has 4 little yappy ankle biters that will not stop barking. as soon as they hear my door open i can hear them come running to the fence to bark at me. If you find a way thats legal to get them to stop please let me know

I would have to Move... to a location with neighbors on the other side of fencelines hundreds of yards away... like where I live because of neighbors like that.

A buddies dad had a neighbor with dogs that always barked. He called the police and they asked how long had the dogs been barking, because they had to bark continuously for an hour before they would come out. So if they barked for 58 minutes out of an hour you were out of luck.

Had some folks move in a couple houses down and there dogs would bark at me the entire time I was outside. What worked for me was I went down the alley to their fence and talked to the dogs and let them smell my hand only for a minute or 2. Know if they start barking at me all I have to say firmly is hush its just me and they stop.

I hear ya. I have some similar neighbors. I would offer to buy her shock collars. If you're lucky, she might get the hint, but at least you aren't out the $.

Maybe your area has a dog ordinance.

We have a corgi which barks at people who come to the door. If that person is provided with a treat to give him, he will never bark at that person ever again.
