It’s all about stability. Buyers will use this as an excuse to back out on buying.

Time will tell....for the last year the dollar has grown weaker (more affordable and part of the reason for the growth in the stock market) but there doesn't seem to be more demand for US fur.

It's adjusting, the silly run up reminds of the IPO nonsense of the 90's.

Sold everything I could at open this morning. I saved a lot of cash by doing so.

Now, I'll wait for the bottom and buy back everything I sold.

Stock market is still up 22% since Trump took office, even with the losses today.

Something crooked going on among the big players. Sell, sell, sell to start the stock market to fall, then buy, buy, buy as soon as it reaches the level which they can make a quick buck.
It happens too often to deny.
It didn't happen much during the last administration because there wasn't much reason to be confident that us stupid people would get in and out of the market.
With an upswing in a bull market (which we are in now), so comes the volatility. Not a bad thing in the mid or long term.

I'll still have more money in the wife's and mine 401ks this time next year than now...

At the present time it is about 7% drop. In 2008 there was a 33% drop didn't come back till late 2009. It is time to hunker down and weather the storm. This really isn't much to worry about haven't lost anything till you sell. A good buying opportunity in the future. Just my 2 cents.

I hope everyone has been saving their $$, when it bottoms buy it.

I heard some people who had money made out good buying cheap stock in the 30's.Problem was hardly anyone had any money.

71 years old here & I buy every payday (every two weeks). The stuff I buy tomorrow will be cheaper than it was today so I get more of it.

Amen to that. It can't just keep going up at the rate it has been, its just unsustainable. Get ready the discount buying opportunity is about to start.

It all depends on what the Fed does. If they come out and say they will not raise interest rates or clear there books the bleeding will stop.If not the bleeding will continue.

It was just said, on the news, that this decline is not even in the top 20, as far as percentage of loss is concerned.

S&P futures down about 19 @ 0830 ET.So we will likely see another few hundred points off the DJIA. Smells like opportunity to me !

Well some people just aren't comfortable with risk. I can't chastise someone for playing it safe. That said, we have known this day was coming for quite a while and the opportunity to hedge has been available all along. Hedging can get expensive.........until it isn't.

Looks like the futures are recovering back toward the flat line. Still going to be volatile for a while I suspect. Keep your eye on the bond market. That's what is driving this correction

You got that right. These dips are just buying opportunities. The sellers are just locking in a loss when you think long term. If I remember I'll bring this post up a year from now. At this time DOW = 24383.68

I doubt many are selling at a loss. You can't play with your gains unless you get them off paper.

Soon the prices at the store will follow the prices of the stock market.As they print more it can keep going up.
