Back foot of a coon

Back foot of a coon - 02/16/18 01:31 AM

Yesterday I had a coon in a DP, Looped it up with the catch pole as it was a fairly decent coon to check the sex, as I grabbed the one back foot to check the sex the other back foot grabbed my hand as it was both of the front feet. I have had coon for pets and have never know that there back feet can be just as good as the front 2 until then. I was impressed, it was a sow and she was caught by both front feet and in good shape. I gave her a few gentle strokes and set her free. I had my first pet coon when I was 6 and many after and I learned something new about them yesterday

Most of the females I catch in DPs are caught by both front feet. Must be something about those greedy females, got to double fist it. Rarely do I ever catch a male by both front feet. And none of them get a pass. Releasing coon will cost you permission around these parts.

I caught 9 boar out of the same trap so though she deserved a pass, 6 of the boar were both front feet caught.
