Good luck. My wife is a cancer survivor and has had her port for 17 years. She thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Good luck, Mike. Pray all goes well. By he way, what is a "port"? I assume an opening to put meds in, but what Corky posted about his wife having one for 17 years, surprises me! Just curious! Keep your head up, big boy!

Prayers with you. With you having a new port, keep in mind to take the risk of infection serious. Too often I see ppl with ports want them accessed immediately even if they have good arm veins. Use it only when necessary and become familiar with the access process. Don't be afraid to correct the nurse if she is using improper technique!
