UP fishing - 06/04/18 12:33 AM

Hey guys, I'm thinking of taking a long weekend trip to the U.P. for some fishing and a little hiking and sightseeing. For those of you that have been there or live there, what would your recommendations be for a place to stay and places to fish and things to see? We will not be trailoring a boat so any place with a boat rental would be perfect. We love to fish for northerns as we don't have many opportunities to catch them here in Ohio. Thanks!!!

Small tourist shops like your money. The amount of tourists we get is really annoying and tourist season never ends

Wow, maybe the NTA should rethink having the National Convention there then.

Where abouts are you located?

I can see certain areas get over run by tourist, which I've been thru them areas but never had any locals not make us feel welcome...

I lived up there for six years and the locals were very friendly, unlike this muskrat al fella. Plenty to do and see. I'm looking forward to going back for the NTA. Kinda like going back home in a way.

Southern part of the U.P.as in the Bays de Noc area has great fishing, not saying further north doesn't just not familiar with that area.I would look into the area from Rapid River to Escanaba.

Didn't you know the U.P. is subsidized by the money from the bridge?

See what side its collected on.

Let them become the state of Superior so Mississippi won't be at the bottom anymore.

Lots of trout streams to fish. No boat required.
Pair of hip boots and off you go.
