WTA District 5 Summer Rendezvous June 23!!!!!!!!!!

Here we go, folks!!!!!!

The WTA District 5 Summer Rendezvous is being held on Saturday, June 23 at the Mondovi Conservation Club. The address is W450 Youth Rd. Mondovi, WI. The hours are 9:00-3:00 with demos starting at 9:00 a.m.

The demo schedule is:

9:00 -- Smokey Henderson and Chuck Glowcheski - Canines and Cable Restraints
9:45 -- Bob Barnett and Brian - Coyote Calling
10:30-- Jimmy Ellis - A New Trapping Technique!!!
11:15 -- Bruce Kees - Water Sets for Mink and Raccoon

The meeting starts at 1:00 p.m. There will be some excellent raffles drawn at 3:00 p.m. Tickets available for D5 members or at the Rondy---1 for $2, 3 for $5, 7 for $10.

Prizes include:

1st: Stack-On 16 Gun Safe
2nd: 45 Quart Yeti Cooler
3rd: Herron Skinning Machine-Hand Crank
Plus we always have a bunch of walk-arounds and bucket raffles with great prizes.

Vendors and Tailgaters are welcome!!!!!!!!! Food available.

Moosey, we have out of town guests this weekend or we would find an hour or two to sneak over there.

By the way, will we see you at the FTA and Trapperman Feed?

Will miss you guys! Not sure I can make the FTA. I am very overdue for a big antique sale plus it looks like my left hip is going out on me now so my time on my feet is probably limited. Have turned into a gimpy, grumpy old curmudgeon. Probably best for me to hang around home and get rid of some antiques.

Taking a bunch of traps, axes, buffalo skulls, and other cool stuff up to Mondovi, though! It does look like the weather will be good so really gonna have a good time up there!

Great Summer Rendezvous for WTA D5! I have to say the Mondovi Conservation Club grounds and building are about the most beautiful venue I've seen. Log Construction building and the main room was air conditioned! Food was prepared by the High School Trap Team as a fundraiser. The weather could not have been better either. Sounds like the D5 Summer Rondezvous will be back at the same place.

Good job to Bill Wrasse and the D5 crew that put this together. Nice to spend the whole day with none other than Muskrat and his dog Charlie. My son Dan showed up and managed to sell a couple of his new turned coyote calls which sound great!

(I have to admit I'm kind of cheerful right now because I won a beautiful hooped black Beaver which was one of the bucket raffles.)

Very well organized and superb facilities. Good times sitting in the shade with the great Black Otter. Thanks to all who organized the event.

Great time yesterday nice to see everyone again. The boys and I had a real fun time. My son Ted won a trap and a Mark June dvd. His buddy and mink trapping partner Liam picked up a couple #1 coilsprings from one of the fine tailgaters and he threw in a mink board so Liam could put them up proper...thanks for that


Wish I had a picture of Jimmy Ellis' demo: A new trapping technique!!!! It is a good one! (Guess everyone is sorry they didn't make it to the D5 rendezvous) Bruce Kees put on a good demo on water sets for mink and raccoon.

Moosetrot thanks again to your son. My ears may never recover. Those calls are real well made and produce alot of loud screams in the hands of a 7 and 8 year old.

The venue was very nice and a good turn out for a week before the FTA.



The kids had a great time picking the numbers for the bucket drawings.

What a good day. We had to stop and feed the ducks in Eleva on the way home.

The call was a hit at home too. (With all the boys more than their moms.)

Trap Setter-I will pass the Thanks on to my son, Dan. He really is putting out some nice predator calls. Even before the Rondy he was excited about being able to give some away to kids. Our apologies to your wife

I also want to congratulate you on your kids. Really a good bunch you're bringing up. Really fun to watch them in action!

Yeah to tell the truth their behavior somewhat surprised me too. I was very impressed at the way all the kids (and there must have been 5 or 6 under 10 years) were so well behaved during the almost two hr meeting.
