Time Machine Entry

Enter August 6, 2018, destination August 6, 1975.

When I was growing up there was no budget for fancy lures, I was reduced to seeing what my friends were using and making my own. The past few days I came acrossed a bag of treble hooks I had purchased for pennies when Gander Mt closed here in Salisbury. I decided I would relive those days and make a couple lures.

My favorite to make.



This morning I returned to the Railroad Bridge to give my lure a few tries. Within a handle full of cast I managed to land....









I don't recall the aches, pains and worries of today back in 1975, but I was there in my heart folks. I was there in my heart.

The impact that creek had on me growing up was such that the first song I wrote was about it. This morning was a great start.

This is all that is left and really all that has been there since I have been fishing there.

Those were the days! If I had a time machine, I'd wear it out going back to the good ole days. I have a lot of "What Ifs" in my life.

Tried my hand at making one of those fancy swimming lures.
