well it happened scope busted up bad my fault - 08/18/18 10:29 PM

A few days the only Nikon scope (Nikon Prostaff about 15 years old) I own took a dive off the atv rack. Its bent, broke and basically destroyed. I own 14 Leupolds, 4 aimpoints, 2 Vortex and this one Nikon. It has always been on my ATV as a riding gun. I bought it new in the box. Its always held zero.

SO I went to their website, I filled everything out paid $11.37 to mail it in. I am wondering what will happen??? If it will be replaced like the commercials say. "No Fault Policy" or it will end up in the scrap pile. This is truly the first scope I ever damaged myself. I have had some quit holding zero over the years but never a repair that was my own stupid mistake. I actually felt dumb mailing it in but I wanted to see if they really mean NO Fault.

Back when I bought that scope I was poor and was happy to have it. If they replace it. I may buy some more. Time will tell. I probably just wasted $11.37 mailing it in but we will see. The scope saved my rifle from any damage it hit scope first hard. Its even bent quit a bit!!!!

they may very well replace it , warranty and reputation is one of the only determining factors between buying scope x or scope y some times.

I had a old cheapo bushnell and a weaver scope go south. Both companies replaced them no charge. Dont see why nikon wouldnt do the same.

I've sent leupold, bushnell and redfield back to get fixed. Bushnell and leupold fix the problem and redfield sent 150.00 voucher for a new scope. The bushnell was bent touching the barrel thanks to the airline. It was in a not to good hard case. The leupold and redfield the parallax went out.

Yeah, you may be surprised, an above and beyond scope warranty is definitely a deciding factor in many purchases. It is a competitive market.

I know what Leupold would do.

I had a Bushnell was about a 70 dollar scope in 2001 when I purchased it , then in nov 2016 I pulled it out of the case to shoot a squirrel on the bird feeder and the cross hairs were at a 45 degree angle.

didn't have the original box or anything went to the post office and got a flat rate tube or triangle and packed it with news paper in that and sent it with a letter to Bushnell , about 3 weeks later I had a new most comparable model they had to it back in the mail.

I can say I wouldn't have likely purchased a Bushnell in 2016 but now if I need one and it fits the bill for what I am looking at it for I would .

They will replace it no questions asked, they replaced all mine (10) that went through a fire, Leupold and a few others would not,all I own now is Nikon because of it.
