The Wisconsin TMan Feed - UPDATED WITH PHOTOS ! - 08/23/18 05:35 AM

The Wisconsin Trapperman Feed is coming up on FRIDAY, SEPT 7th at our convention in Marshfield and it’s time to get organized!

I will post the Master List here and update it as we get commitments from everybody. Please post if you can bring food, beverages, etc and/or if you can help us in labor camp with cooking, serving or cleanup for the Feed on Friday or cleanup on Saturday.

Please do me a favor – when you post or PM that you can bring something, try to mention an approximate amount or number. That will help a lot with our planning.

Re: The Wisconsin Trapperman Feed is FRIDAY, SEPT 7th! - 09/04/18 08:30 PM

Which bridge?
Posted By: Patrice

Re: The Wisconsin Trapperman Feed is FRIDAY, SEPT 7th! - 09/04/18 10:09 PM

He's talking about the bridge on Main St in Reedsburg. The water is coming back up and Sauk County is predicting water higher than the flood that just came through.

If/when we flood again, Nute has a really long circuitous route to get from the west end of Reedsburg to the east side, where he has a food order to pick up on Friday. He has to head south (way past Rock Springs which will be under water), then east past North Freedom (which will be flooded as well), then north to somewhere east of Reedsburg and then west again to come into Reedsburg from the east side.

All of this for the sake of picking up his order of goodies for feeding our vendors on Saturday! THAT is the kind of dedication you get from the D9 Black Sheep. On the news, you will see Nute on a boat, paddling through the east side of Reedsburg to make sure the vendor lunches are saved!

(Thanks, Nute!)

Re: The Wisconsin TMan Feed - UPDATED WITH PHOTOS ! - 09/10/18 02:23 AM

We're home and I have the photos from my camera. Thanks to Alex the dog for taking lots of them!

First, Labor Camp is eternally grateful for delicious cupcakes ordered exclusively for Labor Camp by WissMiss (in addition to the mini cupcakes she ordered for the Feed). Opened the box of a dozen and 5 are missing already!

We also live for Paul's smoked salmon cheese ball with crackers and we had some delicious venison sticks from Macthediver too!

Flowers from Zim add a touch of class to Labor Camp.

Zim is grilling over 100 wild turkey kabobs and putting Wayne (D9 lurker), ChrisH and Macthediver into a trance.

Here is Tommy (D9 lurker), Wayne and ChrisH grilling Thai marinaded goose and duck breast (marinade by Macthediver, meat from Fishadict).

Here's Mat (D9 lurker) and Nute prepping fish to fry.

Wayne and Tommy frying batch after batch of fish.

Here is Bear, our first in line customer every year, finally getting some recognition!

Posted By: Patrice

Re: The Wisconsin TMan Feed - UPDATED WITH PHOTOS ! - 09/10/18 02:23 AM

We started the folks through the food line.

Lots of hungry people showed up. Our outgoing WTA president Scott Zimmermann (red plaid shirt) is taking his first moment to see what it feels like to relax by coming to our Feed! Past WTA secretary Shawn Bazile is right behind him!

So nice to see Paul there!

More folks coming through.

And more folks kept coming as vendors closed up.

Here's Canine Louie!

Here's Greg Schroeder and Jack Hill getting some vittles.

Macthediver and Paul relaxing at the Feed.

Zim and Nute giving out free door prizes while folks ate supper.

We made some announcements, especially to thank lots of people, and everyone had lots of good food and a good time together.

We served 202 meals and raised $716. We donated $358 to the WTA and $358 to the Trapperman Discretionary Fund.

I cannot thank our Labor Camp enough for their hard work. We have the best group of people you could ever ask for and they get it done every time. This time, we had 12 people working hard in Labor Camp. Thank you so much, everyone!

Thank you, Dave, for everything you do to help us out! I wanted to pick up a couple of those propane tanks and other great door prizes myself, but my ticket didn't get called. Lots of nice stuff to win while enjoying good food and good company - all with beautiful weather! Boy, that was hard to beat.

And to think, I almost had to cancel the whole feed due to a clicker malfunction when we started the line going through. Thank goodness I was able to make a last minute adjustment and get it working smoothly. laugh
