That is the largest one she has done so far. When heating glass to the melting point, the larger it is the trickier it is. It is a slow process so it does not shock the glass. It just breaks if something goes wrong.

That is some beutifal frit painting your wife has done. Steady hand and lots of patience. Using 96 Coe I assume.I have been impressed with all her work you have shown us.I have worked glass for 25 years, fused,lampwork and furnace blown glass in Toledo ohio. Please keep showing us her art.

glass NW ohio She has only been doing sgraffito for about four years. It is 96 COE She makes the murrini she uses on the small branches too. It is hard to find fine frit now. I sure she has 100 lbs but she is always looking for more. We have made some frit too.

Mac Yes it is. It is pieces of stained glass, fuzzed to a sheet of glass. The pieces range in size from the main trunk on the trees, down to powder and any size needed in between.
