Coyote stretchers - 11/06/18 03:52 PM
Looking to get some new coyote stretchers, what does everyone prefer these days (solid/adjustable, brand/homemade )? Thanks
im using top lot adjustable, they work for coyote, cat, and otter in a pinch. A bit pricey to get a pile of them but they should last a long time if taken care of. I also have a bunch of their fox boards. I even contacted them and had them shave down some to fit grey fox better and it didnt cost much for the alteration and they have worked great for me. They can be built at home but i dont have access to a planer or proper wood.

I stopped by the top lot table at the ny convention this year, I don't remember the exact prices they wanted but it was a lot and the said they were discounted because of the convention. I walked right outside to one of the tailgaters who makes them. He sold them to me for 1/4 the price and they were at least the quality. Try stopping by a convention.

Im liking the ones Scott Webb of Iowa makes, they are his 4n1 boards. The adjustables from Top Lot are nice, but too short for my coyotes.

How long are his? I'd like to get a few for my bigger coyotes as well.

Dont think he has either, I only see him at the NTA conventions. Maybe the Iowa guys know how to get a hold of him.

Stretch on wire. No pins and last almost forever.

Use a shake or thick cardboard to pin the butt
and tail out on.

I got a few of the "regular coyote" adjustables at the NTA this year. I haven't been able to try them out yet, but they should do just fine. Come with the board to pin the tail out, too. I thought the prices were good compared to others I've seen.

X2 on the Top Lot adjustable. My furs look better than my old adjustable stretchers.

Have a few 4 in 1 on hand. 72" long 7 1/2"- 7 3/4" wide. $10 each and includes a belly board. We've found shipping to be prohibitive. Almost equal to the cost of the board. Scott Webb 563-547-5523

What is meant by 4 in 1

4 in 1 means you can use that same board for 4 different critters. As far as the prices go (in my picture on the previous page), I would think that they are still the same. I got my boards and that price list at the NTA in Escanaba this past July.

What part of ND are you from? I made extra solid boards out of pine last fall and could part with a few. Pm me if your interested.

I have bought solids from the snare shop with reasonable shipping. I haven't checked recently to know if they still have them
