The buck with the tiny spikes gets an "anterless permit"

The 6 point gets my regular buck tag

Now I have my restricted tag for a bigger buck and some doe tags

Two 18 month olds. For the freezer

Good job Troy. Did you take them to the DNR check station in Plainwell to get your patches?

Whacking and stacking!!

My hs senior got his first archery deer tonight, a little 4x4 white-tail, at 8 yards from a "ground blind" of being in a sumac thicket at a nearby river bottoms. His over weight slightly older brother got a nice work out of helping hauling that deer up the river hills. A good work for both of them. I guess dad will be butchering this weekend. Beats dragging a deer up a long hill at my age...

Thanks Brad, no I us usually don't take mine over there, mainly because I never remember to. Have a couple of times though

Also thanks for telling Shawn at Brook Lodge about me, MSU had got me in Contact with him about the beavers, but your recommendation help secure it. Thx again

Yep if we buy them at the same time, it's called a COMBO LISCENSE one tag is for any legal buck the other is for a buck with at least 4 points on ONE SIDE. they can be yard during any of our seasons. Bow, firearm and muzzleloading

The little buck I can tag with a anterless tag as both antlers are smaller than 3". I actually thought it was a. Doe when I shot it

Didn't know it was a buck untill I spread it's legs to field dress it, it was laying in swamp grass with the top of its head on the ground. It was a nice surprise as ibwoukd rather remove a small antlered buck than a doe anyway

So you all can kill 3 antlered deer a year? In Kentucky we can only kill 1 deer with visible antler a year. The zone I'm in is the most liberal with unlimited doe harvest as long as you buy bonus tags.

2 "antlered deer"

In michigan it is not considered an antlered deer unless at least one antler is over 3". Anything smaller you can tag with a "doe" permit. Or as we call them: Antlerless Permit
