The Trump Effect - 11/20/18 12:02 AM
Anybody else see an uptick in coon meat orders like I have? With the unemployment level at record lows seems to me there will be "a coon in every pot !" Keep on "winning" like this, the fur may once again have value.

Trump brought back the coon meat market?

I would think people actually wanting coon meat would mean unemployment is at record highs?

Now that would be correct ifn coon meat were EBT eligible. Dropped off a load of coon today for the Thanksgiving feast to take place in the coming days.

What a lot of Northerns don’t seem to understand is that coon is a delicacy in the South. It would be cheaper to buy chicken, pork, or beef if it was just about food. It’s about tradition and culture. It’s not about food.

Not mine just a pic off the web. I don't eat em, just sell em. Have tried coon meat before and it ain't bad. When compared to beef it would be about like a white bass compared to a walleye. The coon being the white bass.

That's just nasty, but I have seen those noodles squirt out from around the ankle joints before while skinning. It kind of turns me off on coon meat.

I cant see any difference in eating dead animals. if you like the taste then have at it. whats the difference in eating a creature as nasty as a chicken or eating a possum? the ONLY difference is taste. coon is not one of my preferred meals but it is far from disgusting.

It doesn't matter. I would have to be literally starving to death to make a coon table fare. I wouldn't eat a groundhog either and people love those little critters.

EXACTLY!!! An explanation so easily understood from the original post when you understand the traditions and culture of the South. You Louisiana boys better be stocking up on coon meat because if the Saints go to the Super Bowl the coon meat market is going to be WILD!!! LOL

They wont need coon meat, they'll have Federal and state welfare programs include cash assistance, healthcare and medical provisions, food assistance, housing subsidies, energy and utilities subsidies, education and childcare assistance, and subsidies and assistance for other basic services.
I'm just curious how many will be applying for Disability... being physically and emotionally scared from their arduous journey to freedom.

The only reason these pansies won't eat coon is it doesn't come on a Styrofoam tray wrapped in cellophane.
Remove the kernels while dressing it and bbq coon is pretty good,,, lot better than deer. Cleaned out and baked possum is better than either. Possum and cornbread is a good enough breakfast for anybody.

I believe it was sometime in the 1800's that prison ships were in New York harbor. Yup, they kept Criminals on ships. Anywho, they filed a lawsuit against the government because they were forced to eat lobster 5 days a week! I guess the drawn butter and lemons were hard to come by?
