Very Sad Day, Apparent Suicide

We were informed this morning of the death of the husband of our niece, Vice Admiral Scott Stearney who was the Naval Commander of the Fifth Fleet and stationed in Bahrain. The Naval Department will conduct a thorough investigation of his death but preliminary statement from them says "apparent suicide".

Scott assumed command of the fifth in May of this year, six months ago. His oldest son is a Navy seal currently operating out of Spain.

The suicide statement is pretty hard for us to swallow at this time. There is a lot going on in that part of the world.

Please say a prayer for his wife and family during this troubled time.
