The only problem I see with the leaning tree set is you keep what you get. If I make 3 foothold sets and 2 connect I can choose which one to meet and which to let go or if I choose I can relate both. I like the set though.

Here in the Lower peninsula as a trapper we have a 11 day opener, Dec.10-20.

So if you catch anything, keep it.

But if you want to run your dogs, you have a whole month and catch 2 in the U.P.. mad

No dog guys have two months in LP it’s pretty ridiculous

Cats are completely ignoring my baited sets. I have beaver and coon carcasses along with deer but it doesn't seem to interest them at all. Too many grouse and hare to choose from I suspect.

Posco why don’t you set blind trail sets for them.

I put a two trap set out yesterday. Seems like almost every day I find a new track where I haven't seen one before. From what I've seen, I don't think cats are the slave to habit they're made out to be.

Did not know where in Michigan he was from. But some people don't read the rules so they might think they can do what's posted in the whole state.

The UP has lots of better laws than the LP and to think all the tax money goes to the same place. If I could move it would be to the UP its great up there, Larry

A bobcat may go up a tree to get to a bait but I would not count on it. That set would be illegal in my area. That said, if you have to elevate the set to be legal so be it.

People catch cats here every year in MI in similar sets in the UP. I don’t use them as I don’t trap up there but it does and will work fine for cats.

Well Dahlgren, had another hanger this morning. I just wanted to say thanks for sharing the set. Might be my new favourite cat set.

Re: bobcat set - 12/18/18 07:13 PM

Very nice! Cats won't hit my cubby baits. Beaver, coon and deer meat...nada. I can't bait suspended but I don't know if it would make a difference.

It seems like people on here are having better luck with walk through cat sets.?

Re: bobcat set - 12/20/18 11:00 AM

Most critters would rather have walk through sets.
