Set my first traps ever! - 12/16/18 12:41 AM
I have been collecting traps from guys who are retiring from trapping for a while. I got a dozen #2 Bridgers and dukes from a nearby guy. I finally got them dyed and waxed and set out my first coyote sets ever. This is my first trapping season since I was a child with my grandpa. 25 years in the army makes trapping, hunting and fishing pretty hard to do. I’ve been reading a lot about coyotes and coon trapping on this site and I really appreciate the amount of knowledge shared. I’ve had coyote and coon tracks, scat and sign all over my hay fields. Especially the one bordering the state forest. I love see how I did in the next few days. Wish me luck!

Good luck to you... I enjoy making sets almost as much as I enjoy checking them. Every one is different. And thanks for your service. I only did 4 years... but 4 years in the Marines is just about equal to 25 years in the ARMY.

I didn't know people retired from trapping? Best of luck to you on your trapline.

Well... quit typing and go get 'em... Now drop and give me 20!
Don't get discouraged - it's a learning process so ask lots of questions.
(Don't pay any attention to Wild_Idaho - he's a leg...) LOL!
Bring your camera and share some pics
Good luck
And thank you for your service to our nation

The most important thing the Marines do is guard the Navy's gates
