Logans 2018 Barn wall shot - 01/02/19 12:40 AM

Here is the "barn wall" shot for the year.

We also set a few under ice beaver snares this weekend. The slush sucked and at -10 today it was no fun checking them.

We sold all our fur except the cat and the cross fox the other night so he had a little money burning a hole in his pocket. He bought a really cute old Savage 22 single shot with a little of it. Of course he had to shoot it a few times as soon as he got home! His first gun that he bought with his own money from trapping on 1/1/2019.

Other than a handful of sets close to home I think we are about done for the year. It sure was fun!

I had given up and was ready to get rid of the rest of my stuff. Good thing this little runt happened along or I would have missed out on all the fun.

Awesome sauce there! Congrats! Love to see a kid work hard, enjoy himself and then have success like that. Buying that gun with his own money is super!

Good job with the kid. I do think that is the first barn shot I've seen with no coon on it.

We caught 1 coin in a cage late and released it. Distemper hit us hard. We haven’t caught a skunk in 2 years.

He bought the gun from his grandpa along with a couple hundred rounds of various ammo for $50. There may have been a family discount!

Lucky you, I'm up to 13 skunks on the same farm so far, and over 30 possum. That's what happens when you skip a yr of trapping.

smile Even so, I still love it. smile Now that our two boys are grown and we can look back on how we raised them I am very glad that we did similar things with our boys. They are both very responsible young adults, can manage their money and know the value of a dollar. I can see that this young man is on the same path too and we need all of those that we can get these days. Good job young man!!
