What's the difference between a battle field and a battle ground?

Splitting hairs but I'd guess battle ground refers to the entirety of the area of conflict to include all areas controlled and or contested by opposing forces up to and including air and sea whereas battlefield could be the specific area or portion of a battle ground encompassing a specific engagement which may or may not be part of a larger military action.

That's what I thought too. Thanks.

I think the current term for 3D fighting is called "battle space".

And that just might be to avoid the confusion of the two terms.

I suspect that those who engage the enemy don't concern themselves with whether they are on a battle ground or on a battlefield . The semantics may seem of little importance.

Is there a new prize on this site that gives $ to the person that post's the most?

Do you even sleep?

I believe that both spellings are correct and BOCO's spelling looks very sophisticated. Not only is he a great trapper, he's equally at home in a formal setting. Kudos BOCO, I enjoy your trapping posts... Great pictures!

For those of us that fought out of choppers we don't get places named for the fight and on the good side we don't have to debate what it should be called either.
