Keurig coffee people? - 01/15/19 02:00 PM
my wife is due In a couple days with our 3rd son and I lost the
Battle on coffee making until she is done nursing, anyhow what is the
Cheapest Keurig coffee cups, I don't care what it tastes like bc it won't
Compare to perked coffee either way. Just looking for the cheapest.
I found out she spent like 12 dollars on 24 cups and I about smashed the
Keurig.
Thanks

They make a cup that uses ground coffee. It's way cheaper than the k-cups.
And you can make it strong or weak.
Make sure you get the one for you're model.

^^what he said....ours is purple, from Walmart, but most grocery stores carry them too, and you spoon in your own from the can or bag.
We have found it as cheap as .15/cup at Ollies or Big Lots once in a while and pick some cups up then, used mostly in the camper.

X3 use your preferred coffee. Kcups are crazy expensive. I think they are geared toward people who drink 1 cup of coffee a day or once in awhile

HyVee has a box of 100 for $20.00.
I have trouble with the fill your own cup. It doesn't want to work with it.

Hate kerigs. I grind my own and use variety of markers. French press, espresso, etc.
Hater of freeze dried coffee too.

It doesn't matter how cheaply you can find Keurig cups, they still make a poor tasting cup of coffee.

Re: Keurig coffee people? - 01/15/19 02:59 PM
That's all my mom uses anymore because she likes her coffee freshly made. I've not noticed a lessening of quality when I visit and have Keurig coffee with her, taste fine to me.

Re: Keurig coffee people? - 01/15/19 03:05 PM
Yes waggler, that is why I would get the cheap ones bc
They all taste nothing like perked coffee on the stove.

Congratulations on the soon to be arrival of your 3rd son NE Wildlife. We have 3 boys ourselves. You certainly shouldn't have to make your own coffee so you might need to have a quick sit down with her and discuss roles and responsibilities. She needs only get out of bed 10 minutes before you to solve this problem..

Around $20-22 for a box of 80.

JK ... MENARDS , Menards sells 90 count boxs for between $18 and 24 bucks ... Walmart sells big boxs also

Re: Keurig coffee people? - 01/15/19 05:24 PM
I buy 100 count donut shop for around $38-$42. I only drink one cup on my way to work then another cup that's brewed at work. I think its a great cup of coffee but on the weekends when I drink
more I make a pot. Still expensive cup of coffee and the makers don't last long, a year or two usually is our limit.

Depends on how important your coffee is. I make coffee before I go pee or get dressed.
Only one cup per day, and it is a religious experience for me. I drink Folgers Black Silk and can get it for .50 per cup on Amazon if I get 120 count.
I'm spoiled.

I lost the K-cup battle with the significantly obtuse other.
I miss the romance of making it in the ole pot (the coffee too...).
I generally made a fresh pot every week, even if there's some left over.

Was a costco earlier getting gas $1.69 and ran in for water. They had some 100 count for $20.

McCafé for me. Tim Hortons dark roast sometimes to mix it up. Nothing beats percolated coffee though.

One trick l use for the Keriug is to preheat my mug with hot water before l place it under the machine takes a minute for it to come up to temperature. I than dump the hot water in the reservoir and start my brewing. That way my coffee stays hotter longer.

Re: Keurig coffee people? - 01/17/19 04:11 PM
my wife had to have a keurig several years back. when we had it i would price shop for the best per cup price locally, which generally meant buying in boxes of 100 or more
after cleaning it a few times, i saved the gunk that came out of it and she was done with the thing. lots of nastiness.
we use a french press now

Re: Keurig coffee people? - 01/17/19 04:27 PM
I'm pretty sure coffee tastes must be Regional, or at least it used to be. Several years ago when I visited friends and relatives in The Dakotas and Michigan I recall their coffee had the color of tea. Kind of like church coffee. Little to no flavor.
I don't know if that's because that's how people drink or drank it there, or if all those folks were just cheap-skates trying to stretch their coffee.
I suppose if that's the kind of coffee you grew up with Keurig would taste pretty good.

Re: Keurig coffee people? - 01/18/19 11:12 AM
Some like it hot.
Some like it cold.
Some like it in the pot
nine days old.
I make it one cup at a time as I want it fresh and start sipping when it stops dripping. I'm sure the cheap generic brand doesn't taste as good as a good name brand. Folgers Black Silk is the best I've found yet and it is a very strong cup of coffee. When I was in Alaska, I never had a bad cup of coffee.

Re: Keurig coffee people? - 01/18/19 12:41 PM
We had one of the earlier models and it worked okay - all I ever use is a refillable "basket" k-cup with Dunkin' Donuts grounds. Good stuff. Then my lovely wife won a fancy new model in a raffle. The new technology included an electronic "eye" that reads whether or not you are using Kuerig brand K-cups. If not, it won't work at all. Nice. So, I jumped on The Google and learned of a way to bypass that feature. I had to take the top off of the machine and splice a wire. Felt like I was defusing a bomb ("Which wire do I cut?"), but it worked perfectly.

Have they caught on as to why you stop by every morning as the doors are being unlocked?
