Snow plow, if it weren't for bad luck

Snow plow, if it weren't for bad luck - 01/17/19 10:12 PM

I'd have no luck at all lol. I went through everything in the summer and got all things ready and working on my snow plow. Went a little bit ago with some help to put the plow on and the pump works fine with side to side, and up, but won't go down. Got a bunch of snow coming, and I'm out of commission. I tried to prepare lol.

just put mine on the 4 wheeler and plugged in the steer.

Had that happen once. Part of the cylinder had come partially unthreaded, wouldn't let it operate.

Another time it was bc the jack was still on it. That was an easy fix. crazy

my old Meyers does that every year at least twice. I wiggle the wires on the switches and away we go again.

My western does something similar once in awhile. I wiggle the wires where it hooks on to the truck. The ground in that plug is the culprit on mine.

When I touch the right and left and up buttons on the controller I can hear them engage. But when I press the down button I can't hear anything. This is all with the plow off the truck.

You won't hear anything because all it does is open a solonoid. Up, left and right the pump runs.

Oh, does the pump need weight to bring down the cylinder hippie?

Is that plow really necessary to have down there in Ohio? I still see grass by that tree!

A thick coating of car wax on that plow will keep that snow from sticking to it. wink

1950 Farmall Cub. Tricked out with two sets of rear wheel weights (600 lbs.) and chains. Minus three and no sign of snow, yet.
