HT, that is gorgeous !

It feels like a nice cross of stylized and anatomical study. I do like it !

The rule of thirds is perfectly portrayed , the angle and direct stare engaging the viewer as surely as reality in meeting.

The dark background, white whiskers highlighted against it in contrast...stylized fronds in muted tones giving the tropical feel .

Bright orange in the face directs focus and dimension from the body.

With such diverse mediums nowadays, I am wanting to say acrylic , or oil, but it could also easily be CARANd'ACHE, Polychromos FABER CASTELL, or even Prisma Colour pencils.

HT, please tell the young lady to keep it up .

Life seen from the right side of the brain in talent is rich in unique feelings that can live it to the full.

Thank you HT , for the share, and in enjoying your talents , as a natural in ability , as well.

Tis mighty cool

That's terrific!

Then again I think Trapstick man is right up there with Picasso.
But seriously, wonderful talent.

Re: Ms Sharon.....WON FIRST PLACE!! - 01/25/19 07:58 PM

I envy those with artistic talent.
My oldest sister could draw, paint and sculpt from the time she was small. By the time she was in high school her work was really good and even better after college.

I hope the young lady is encouraged to continue using this gift she has been given, many of us wish we had her talent.

Re: Ms Sharon.....WON FIRST PLACE!! - 01/25/19 10:24 PM

I really enjoy seeing those who have a talent use it.

I have a nephew that has always had a special talent. Took him near 40 years to figure it was worth pursuing.

I have two step G-daughters that are very gifted also. Can't get either one of them to use their talents at all.

One thing about all of them is, they sure look at things in life from a different perspective than most others. Most times in a good way.

I am by far no artist, heck, I can't even draw a good bath. But I enjoyed in-particular, the merger with the tigers right ear, and the plant. It's like a focal point that draws you in. Very nice drawing young lady, you have talent!

That young lady has some serious talent. her work far surpasses anything that resembles a Trapstickman image even though Osky rates it with a Picasso. That being said, Osky, I have a drawing to sell you.

Good job, congratulations on the first place ...awesome!

Re: Ms Sharon - 02/06/19 05:11 PM

Thanks, HT !

She is having such fun discovering the world of art and life in motion . Developing her own style through time.

Coloured pencils are a world unto themselves, one which I have been enjoying as my main medium for illustrating for a long time, now, but still improving, refining, learning. The different kinds of pencils each have their own makeup, and ways of adhering to paper, as well as quality and degrees of lightfast .

Im really finding the German and Swiss makes are my favorites . Fortunately they all can be blended and used together.

Thank you for finding out what she used on the tiger, HT !

Love to see young artist's work, or anyone's , for that matter.

Apparently she got bored with the fur and feather stuff. My son purchased this from her recently.

Re: Ms Sharon.....WON FIRST PLACE!! - 09/04/20 08:21 PM

Water and underwater lighting is a different world, for sure. The perspective of below and above waterline is especially challenging. Pooling tones of water is really amazing...it isn't just blue. If it is shallow , inches with gravelly stones or leaves on the bottom, it is barely seen , except for lines of ripples and shore line. It can be a bit frustrating at times !

She did real well in all those points !

Especially tilting the subjects of waterline and shark gives a good motion feel that's important.

Thanks for the share, HT
