Beaver lure question

When use beaver lure that caster based but runny, how long does last in weather compared to thick stuff? I would think not long in sun , I got some new beaver lure on trade an smell good , remind me of trapper arts lure but very runny

Run with the runny! Throw it on some moss or leaves and it should last just as long as the other. My homemade is runny and I do well with it.

Put it on a half rotten piece of wood, the rotting wood will absorb it.

I have some straight beaver sac oil , would that be good for set where toe a beaver ? In the fall I caught some beaver, however toed one in coon set, with coon lure, also on same steam but half mile away I toed another on caster lure with no.3, what kind set an lure would u use in toe beaver, ? It is in road ditch so sets u make would be limited in small area where can trap, I am talking about upcoming spring beaver

You talk about toeing a beaver, how do you have your footholds set up for drowning the beaver?

Increase your pan tension to 5lbs, and you'll decrease toe catches. Also make sure your springs aren't getting weak. I've found the best tool to use on a spooked beaver are snares.

Castorium is expelled with urine when a beaver marks a mound, and is about as watery as it can be, yet its odor lasts a very long time, even after a rain. No need to worry about a runny lure.

Thanks for advice, the pan tension was loose for in fall, they are set heavy now for upcoming spring beaver, yes there were all on sliders, found both traps at deep end stake, springs strong, 4 coil Beefer kits put on, barely set with hands , I never like mb750s, to short factory chain an impossible me set without trap setters, also don't like pull pan down until click

I'll bet that works for you. Just make sure the water is deep enough so that if the beaver gets caught by the hind foot his nose can't reach the surface for air.
That takes deeper water than a lot of guy realize. If the depth is marginal and there isn't anywhere else to make a set, drive a tangle stake into the bottom right next to your drowning sack.
