Agree. I dont see any winners yet in the Dems stable, but if they would saddle up Michelle or Oprah, they might have a winning horse. Unless the left gets impatient or they believe they have a firm majority of the citizens in their favor, gun confiscation will not occur. They will continue on their present course of unchecked immigration,replacing Hope with government goodies, and educating the youth that the right to defend yourself is afforded to the collective (.gov), not the individual.

On the news tonight, they were announcing the various bribes the democrat presidential hopefuls were promising to give their voters, with other people's money. One wants to pay every poor person $3000.00 more at tax time. Another wants to give every poor kid $1000.00 a year. One wants to tax rich people at 70% They are all socialists. The problem is that many self interested people will vote against the countries best interest to enrich themselves at other's expense.

I would also say, trust the Republicans at your own peril. They have sold out Constitutionalists out for decades. With few exceptions (mainly the Freedom Caucus in the House; Cruz, Lee, and Paul come to mind in the Senate) they should all be voted out as well. Democrat Lite does nothing to further the cause of conservatism other than to MAYBE slow the bleeding.

It seems like we're always one election away from disaster. If the Republicans can't find candidates that are conservative, I'm more than willing to send my vote to the Constitution Party and take my chances. I took it as a direct threat toward all gun owners when I heard her. She and her communist Democratic party are literally trying to hold all gun owners hostage in effort to keep our borders open!

Term limits would prevent politicians from getting to the point where they feel so powerful they can take away our constitutional rights on their say.

The problem is that the dingbat was voted for by most of the voters in her district and then voted into more power by over half the elected heads of districts in the US. Pelosi is a symptom, not the disease.

They can do the same with guns as they did with Obamacare...if you don't go along with it, they get you when you file income taxes. They also have the power to confiscate $$ you have in the bank. They did that to Amish in Nebraska who were fined for home-schooling instead of public schools, and refused to pay the fine.

Government has never liked citizens or subjects either one who opt to remain free. Government takes money, it incarcerates and it kills people who refuse to submit. Doesn't matter whether they are infringing on anothers freedom or property it only matters that they have refused to submit. Committing heinous crimes like turning off their government owned water supply to collect rain water for example or putting up a building on property they thought they owned without first getting permission from the real owner their local government. Freedom is continuously under attack. Next time you get all wadded up over your neighbor not mowing his grass or keeping an old car in his yard that is junk ask yourself how that effects the way you want to live.

Here we have what is commonly called school tax . My neighbor was complaining to me one time and I told him to change the subject . He kept on until I finally said I did not nor did my wife ever attend the school of the district we live in .We never had any children attend that district so we are paying but never received anything in return . I said you have 3 kids going to the school so he is getting something in return . He replied I guess I see your point .Anyway try not paying those taxes and see what happens . Even after you are finished paying your mortgage you need to pay rent as long as you live.

The democrats had the house and the senate and the presidency when Barrack Obama was president, and the second amendment and the electoral college are both still around. (Both require a constitutional amendment to change, so it doesn't really matter who controls the white house and the legislature, but lets play along.) However, when republicans controlled the white house and the legislature recently, we lost bump stocks. I'm not saying this to bash our President, believe it or not. I'm saying this because the enemy isn't one political party or another, the enemy is authoritarianism, and you're only fooling yourselves if you think only one party has a monopoly on that. One party is more authoritarian than the other, for sure, but it's a problem in both parties. Always fight for small government and freedom. regardless of which party you vote for.

A person, when considering this fairly logical argument, needs to take into consideration that 'they' also were very confident his successor would be a similar minded POTUS and these folks may have learned some new tricks since bo's 2 terms. Plus the complete radicalization of the dem party is something that is more recent.

I don't disagree with that at all. Both parties are getting further apart and more radicalized, but Trump's election seems to have sent the Democrats ever the edge. The democrat party is most definitely the more dangerous of the two main parties, and the more willing of the two to go completely crazy in what they do.

Protecting our borders is in the constitution, as well as the right to keep and bear arms.

I think the reason the Dems have gone off the deep end is that they were SOOOO close to having it all in the bag, then Trump stepped in and blew the whistle. I'm really surprised they haven't had him killed yet.

The quote from Pelosi that started this thread was about declaring a national emergency about the epidemic of killing of civilians with firearms. It didn't say anything about confiscating firearms. The thread went off in a lot of different directions after that. I think most of us agree that there is a problem with these types of shootings and that restricting firearms will not solve the problem. It is those other ways that need to be investigated and focused on.
