Kestrels are sure good looking birds.

Kestrels are the smallest falcons. A friend of mine has some that nest in one of his barns. I enjoy watching them torment Cooper's hawks. The kestrels are much faster and more agile flyers.

I had a sharp shin do the same thing into my kitchen window. He and the sparrow he was chasing were not so lucky. Both broke their necks on impact and died under the window sill.

I too years ago had a sharp shinned hawk that had just caught a cardinal from my feeder, slam into my living room window. Both of them didn't make it.

I walked under a Sharp-Shin’s nest in the woods once when I was probably 12 and thought I was gonna get my scalp torn off. That dive-bombing is intimidating

Only in America back before birds of prey were protected I had a falconet that was about 6 inches and a really neat pet the guy I got it from had ordered it out of the back of some magazine without telling his parents about it and they would not let him keep it when they found out they made him give it away
