What was the worst back stabbing you have had?

What was the worst back stabbing you have had? - 03/08/19 02:51 PM

Mine was from a "disabled" Vietnam vet I'll call "Ray". I felt bad for him as he had no strength in his hands. He said he liked to trap so I skinned and put up all his fox, coons and mink for free. Did this for 6 or 8 years.Little did I know he was hardly trapping at all. He was stealing animals trapped by others, mostly me! I always set my underwater conibears with the trigger up from the bottom ( catch a lot more critters that way, especially mink and rats in larger size conibears). I had an otter set, (220) and every day the trap was set with the trigger on top, so I put a trail cam on it, set to take a pic every 10 seconds. Next day I had 3 pictures, first was Ray coming over the guard rail, second he was at the set, third he was leaving with a muskrat in hand. In thirty seconds he reset a 220 conibear with his "disabled" hands and left the scene. Same day he shows up at my fur shed with 2 mink for me to skin. Just so happens I had 2 mink stolen that day out of snares. In the back of his truck is my snare on a brick from one of the 2 stolen mink. I showed him the trail cam pics and he started whining how disabled he was and that I should use 110 conibears!!!!!
But wait it gets better!!
Next year I am set up at the NJTA convention selling snares and who sets up next to me but good ole Ray. He puts up his table and proceeds to put out dozens and dozens of my snares at half price. The no good bum had never bought a snare off of me, ever. He had been stealing them out of my barn a few at a time so I did not notice them being gone.
This all happened in 2010 and 2011. Why do I bring it up now you ask? Cause it is Lent and for Lent I vowed to be nice to my fellow man. This morning on the way to town I saw a truck with a flat tire on the roadside. I slowed down to stop and see if I could help and then I saw it was Ray. I did not stop, I hope God will forgive me. That sounds bad allright. He was stealing your fur, then had the nads to get you to skin it for him, lol.
I would have asked him if his hands were too weak to skin, who was setting his traps for him.

My divorced brother-in-law is a drunk. His former wife and nieces are great people but not too smart. He was way behind in child support and she had rung up a massive credit card debt. The nieces are now grown up. I made arrangements to give her $ 20,000 to clear her bills and get rid of his judgement and back payments if he quit drinking and she would get her finances in order. Both had a clean start. Within a week he was drinking and she was at the casino. Helping some people is a waste of effort. Won't happen again.

I once had a president that said I could keep my doctor and my health insurance would go down $2,500 a year. Still stinging from that one.

The next step is total socialized health care for all and an end to private health care. May happen in 2020.

Worse backstabbing I had was my ex wife and brother.

Cathouse,

He did not ! We actually worked together on the civilian side. Tough guy according to his bizarre stories . So I waited a long while after I knew to give him the chance to do the right thing as in talking to me man to man. He never did.

So I waited until several other senior officers were around and called him out on not being with her so much , but being to big of a ##### to come talk to me . Then I had to add in a few other things like his continued lying about his accomplishments , throwing other officers under the bus , etc..

I retired not long after . But It's my understanding guys still bring up that conversation to him whenever he starts being annoying.

Every time I extended a hand it bit me in the behind ,Hundreds of traps gone , Always before season ,A couple years ago A fellow I showed a bit about trapping coyotes had his kid checking my line . So one day I seen him driving out the far side of the field I went in to check my trap and there was a coyote foot in my trap nice clean cut above the jaws .I never confronted him or his dad but that marked the end to our friendship

HMMMM, So many to consider, crazy really, my favorite,
My wife was previously married to a dirt bag drug user at the end of it etc, had two kids I adopted them. My kids! So anyway we go to my wife's nephews wedding, were standing around she has a big family. People who know me just understand you don't mess with me or mine. So were at the reception socializing having a beer and a dance. This guy (the ex's new brother-in law) comes up and starts questioning my two oldest children and my wife steps in. I'm standing back. She was a very sweet, understanding, get walked on, person until she married me. ;-) So this goes on, she is telling him to leave them alone and he continues. I've had a enough I step in and her brothers are standing there. I end it he leaves. But I'm, told by her brothers, I'm the bad guy and what I said and told the jack-wad was wrong. We leave go to our room with the kids for while then come back down stairs. We go the bar part and are standing by ourselves and this jakcwad comes up to us again. he is like apologizing etc. I tell him to leave again. He refuses and closes the distance. So I break my beer bottle and tell to leave or I'll gut him. He leaves her brother (who invited him) comes over and I'm the bad guy. So we get home the wife calls her brothers tells them the whole story and they are like oh well we didn't know he seemed like a decent guy etc. I have and will never have anything to do with her family again. Two moto's: DTA( Don't trust Anyone) and Jesus may forgive but I don't.

Other than my ex wife, i showed an amish kid (young man) how to skin a coon. Gave him a fleshing knife a stretcher and some lure. Early the next summer he went around getting permission on the farms i trap and put his traps in the same fox sets i been trapping for 30 years. He was nice enough to tell me i could trap there too.

The Amish sure go out of their way to be nice, eh?

I'm certain a few of you can relate to this "minibackstab":

It's the old "Sure, you'll be the only one trapping this farm if you help me out with this ____________ (fill in the blank)"

I recall this one muck farm that I helped the farmer out for a week one summer. Was told exclusive 'rat rights on the drainage ditches come 'rat opener. You know the rest of this story. Yuppers, there are three of us out there, all with "exclusive" rights.

9 years ago when I was doing 24 Hr. Service work I get a call at 2am that one of my customers had a complete power loss on one of their offshore platforms due to the generators going down. The only thing that would run was the back up Diesel Generator that only runs the lights and living quarters. I throw the tools in my truck and drive to the heliport 3 hours away. Fly offshore and start trouble shooting the issue. Well low and behold they had forgotten to turn on the computer that activates all the safety systems on the facility. I push the ON button and everything comes back to life. So I do some random checks to make sure everything is squared away. I'm back at my house for 1 Pm that same day. Well jump to the next day and my supervisor at the time calls me in the office. He tells me that I got pulled for a random drug screen. So I go do my RANDOM drug screen with no issues. The next day I get a call from the manager of the company I did the work for two days prior that I am no longer allowed on their premises. I politely asked why I wasn't allowed on his facilities if it was something I did wrong or broke something. Well the moral of the story was that I made someone's brother look very stupid so he accused me of Smoking some Recreational Herbal in front of the crew. But as they say Karma is special. The extra Special brother had quit that job a few months down the road and was caught selling some Recreational Herbal to an undercover Officer a week later.

This will also qualify as my most stupid moment as well. 2 years ago I planned to send my coyotes to the Colorado sale so I talked my “friend” of about 15 years to send what he had too. I sent 180, he sent 40. Mine averaged $48, his $35. His included 3 decent western types from his annual Nebraska hunt that got $55 each for his high. I had 106 over $50. Somehow he agreed to take our coyotes out last year. I had 200 ready to go a week before he was leaving for Colorado so my wife and I loaded them into his enclosed trailer. We came back with 53 more 2 days before he left and he had unloaded my furs because he “had to re-load them”. Being friends for so long I really thought nothing of it. He’d unloaded my coyotes alright. He took 150 of my best and gave me 150 coarse dark brown southern Illinois coyotes. So on 253 coyotes I averaged $34 same as he did with 431 coyotes. In 15 years of comparing numbers he had NEVER come close to the value my furs brought. The grader in Colorado also recognized the theft. Oh yeah, I had 12 coyotes over $50 in an up year. My buddy brought 1 coyote back from Nebraska and he got $130 for it. Then he had the next 25 coyotes average over $80 each. Before this sale he’d never gotten over $70 ever for a coyote.
So this year I took my own coyotes and no one else’s to Colorado. And the scum bag took his coyotes too. I averaged just over $60 and he averaged just over $30. Gee, do you see why I felt so stupid for trusting him?
I’m sure he cost me $5,000+. The really sad thing is he farms other people’s land. Just imagine the screw job they’re getting. I wonder if his wife knows what a dirt bag she’s married to? I hope some day to be able to forget it.

family. close ones, the ones that raised you and you were raised with. They are always the worst. Now that im older and dgaf, ive told them all to pound sand and my life has been a happily ever after. Craig's mother & mine were best friends. I was born on August 27, a few minutes before midnight August 28, Craig was born a few minutes after midnight on August 28. Our mothers shared a room, I knew that boy from the time he was born, literally. Fast forward 26 years ( we were tight all that time) his wife Cathy came to our home & told my wife ' Suze, I don't want to start trouble for you but things have gotten out of hand. Richard is coming into town( I was a long haul truck driver), parking his truck downtown, drinking, chasing (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) and he calls Craig when he's all drunkup and Craig has to go get him and put him to bed in his truck so you don't know about it. This is hurting our marriage bad, Craig having to stay out all night 2 or 3 times a week because of Richard, this has been going on for 3 years now. 'Cathy, I get all Richard's run sheets, he calls every Friday and we compare notes so we get paid correctly, I know where that truck is pretty much all the time'. About that time I walked out of the shower with a towel wrapped around me & asked Cathy to excuse my near nudity & said I'd heard the conversation and where the (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) was Craig, I wanted to talk to him right now. 'Richard, he's out saving you from yourself now'. I have never seen a woman more broken than then and I hope I never do again. She feel to pieces and told Susan(I was getting dressed and just caught the end of it but just flat asked her'Cathy, he's been beating you?'. We'll not discuss the repercussions of Craig hurting that fine woman nor back stabbing me. We'll leave it that Craig gave everything to Cathy in the divorce and told someone later that he was surprised & scared at the retribution that had been dealt him. That boy had known me from birth & he'd seen my stance in certain matters before and he'd seen my reaction to matters such as this. I'll never understand why he thought he was above that.

Once over some tools, wasn't really that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. Compared to others I haven't really been backstabbed thankfully. I semi pride myself as being cautious.

All theses story make me feel good about living my life as a friendless loner. I don't have anyone to help me with things and there is no one to ask me for help, fair trade off. I always told my kids, everyone you meet in life has an angle, or a motive. Be it good , bad , or otherwise, always keep that in mind.

My bil is about the most two faced back stabbing prick I’ve ever known. I could write a book on the crap he did to me over the years. My mother lives with them, because my sister says so, and I heard him say stuff about her, not to me though, behind my back. She’s the nicest lady ever not saying that cause she’s my mom, she never swears, she always stood up for that no account. And now he acts like that

I have always like to help people that need some help. (work that's takes more then 1 person). I have taken people on hunting trips, not big trips just around the area where it is nice to have a partner to hunt with. After a while people start to expect it but never return good gestures. I don't ask for it but it becomes difficult. Now my kids are older, they have become my hunting partners and appreciate the things we do together.

In my opinion, people need to get physically meaner again. We’ve gotten so nice, non-violent and non-confrontational as a society that there’s no real consequences for treating people like garbage any more. Passive-aggression is the SOP nowadays. Everyone depends on Big Brother to take care of their problems and the idea of taking care of them yourself has become a foreign concept. We’ve demonized “violence” so much that you’ll get more jail time for punching a thief than the thief will for robbing you blind.

My opinion is that we need to make a conscious effort to NORMALIZE VIOLENCE AGAIN. You steal from me, I’ll beat the tar out of you but I won’t call the cops and pay taxes to feed you. Imagine if, instead of spanking a kid when they do something blatantly wrong, you gave them a “summons”, told them you’ll talk about it next week, then maybe a month after that they’d have to get grounded, but it might get dropped if they tell on another kid for something. They wouldn’t learn the lesson very well, and neither do adults. Consequences should be swift, painful, and over, not slow, burocratic and painless.

My opinion.
I think the world would be a better place.

Figured AK was a tougher place. Most circles I know still operate as such. I agree....having a healthy fear of retribution helps keep people in line.

Another one.. Had a guy i worked with on night shift ask if he could ride along while i was turkey scouting.. Went to some of my go too places and located some gobblers. He assured me he wouldnt butt in and he would find his own places. You can guess what happened the opening day. He said its public land. I said you know that tree you have been sitting against the first day of deer for the last 8 years? Ill be sitting there the first day. When i got there he was already there so i went in front of him about 30 yards and proped up against a tree. I said PUBLIC LAND!

Eric

Eric, you said at first you thought he was a disabled Vietnam vet, but you obviously disproved the disabled part. I hate to even bring this up... but is he really a Vietnam vet at all? Just a thought. Nothing else about the guy seems to be true!

Sorry. That just crossed my mind and I had to say it. So sorry for how that guy took advantage of you. You're a good person to be worrying about not stopping to help him!

Wrong. Vigilantism is defined as “taking of the law into one’s own hands without legal authority.” I’m not attempting to enforce any law whatsoever; except maybe Newton’s 3rd Law: “For every action there’s is an equal and opposite reaction.” That's a natural law, and the only reason it doesn’t apply to unscrupulous people is that people like yourself have created an artificial environment that protects them from consequences.

Typical cop-out. Every liberal I know has a knack for conveniently finding one when confronted by logic. And I’m calling you a liberal because you clearly believe that justice must be bequeathed by a government, making government a necessity and superior to the population of individuals rather than subject thereto. I believe none of the above. I believe a system created by men exists to serve men rather than men serve the system, and the creation of a system for the delegation of the duties of justice certainly does not preclude men from enacting justice themselves when they so choose.

What I was advocating is simple self-assertion. If you believe that men standing up for and defending themselves is “vigilantism,” then you might as well simply brand yourself a Marxist.

Now on the topic of vigilantism I’m not strictly opposed to that either, but that’s not the practice I was advocating in this post. We could debate that too if you should find it worth your sovereign time to climb down off your high horse and discuss it with us peons.

My two cents, the law always sides with the perpetrator. My 13 year old stood up to her bully and who do you think got in trouble ? Go ahead put someone in there place, feels good till you get a knock on your door from the sheriff dept. about how you threating them, hit them, or had a gun on your hip ,(whether you did or didn't) and try to play their word against yours. The days of punching someone in the face and calling it a day are over; todays world is about suing and pressing charges. I don't like it or agree with it but that's just how it is. I'm a 20th century man living in the 21st century, I just try to stay as far away as people as I can.

After four years in the AF started college at UW-LaX on the GI Bill. Bartended on the side. 1975. Manager of the bar found out I fished and had a boat and became my "friend.". Trusted him with the location of a fishing hole in the waybacks. Said I'll take you there, just never reveal location to anyone else. Well, you know the rest of this story.

Fast forward to last year. Took my late father's male nurse bow hunting up a local river and he scored a nice buck. Same conditions, just don't share location. This fella really did a nice job with my father in his last couple of years in the nursing home and I'll be forever indebted to him. He calls me up a while later and says his good buddy knows me and wants to come bow hunting with us the next bow season. I said what's his name. And he tells me.

Silence on the phone. He said what's up. I said ask him.

The subject never came up again.

There was a line clearing crew at my "buddies" place, I was getting firewood in the area. My "buddie" asked them while I was standing there what they would charge to take down this huge black oak (biggest Ive ever seen, and I have seen a lot of them) leaning over his house- they said 50 bucks- he then looks at me and asks me in front of them, "how much would you charge", which, I thought was both an insult to them, they gave him a heckuva price, and to me, wanting me to do it cheaper LOL.
Well, he didn't have it done by them, and kept pestering me for a price. At that time I didn't have the right insurance for tree removal and didn't really want to do it. I said OK, 800 just to get it down on the ground, if it hits the house I don't want anything. You couldn't really take any of the lean limbs off due to where the house was located. I incorporated a buddy and got the ropes, come along, jack etc, and we got it down safely. I paid my buddy handsomely out of pocket for helping and was just glad nothing went wrong.
OK, guess what happens next, 20 years later and still no pay. It would have been easier on me just to give the trimming crew 50 bucks and walked away...….

That's the part I can't figure out. Doesn't seem to bother these low lifers one bit.

Only conclusion I can draw is they were raised that way. Must've seen one or both of their parents screwing others and have accepted it as normal behavior.

Jack has some guns for sale. Jack knows Im in the buy/sell trade and asks me if Im interested. He hands me the list with the prices. Good guns, decent prices, to rich for my blood at that time- I pass on them.
Jack continual bugs me asking if I know anyone that's interested, finally I submit and say yea, Pete buys guns I will show him the list. Pete sees the list and wants to go right now to buy them. I call Jack repeatedly throughout the week trying to set up a look see with Pete. He always has an excuse, burning brush, Tupperware party, Chiropractor etc.- BUT also says "don't worry, the guns aren't going anywhere, Pete will get to see them"
I am not getting a red cent for this, no finders fee, no bribe, no nothing, just trying to set 2 guys up for a deal..
I tell Pete this aint looking good somethings up, Jack always has an excuse when we try to go look at them. Now Pete was riding along with me checking my traps, and Jack calls. He says " Those guns, don't worry about them anymore, they are gone." Im jacked cause I told Pete he had first cracks, and miffed because Jack lied to us all along about them.
Im done with Jack for lying to me and Pete thinks I bought them out from under him. That's what ya get for getting involved trying to help people out.

It was shortly after last years Colorado sale that I learned I’d been robbed, the next day was one of the hardest days of my life. I had lots of coyotes to work and my heart had been torn out. A “friend” of 15 years and all that hard work made it so tough to overcome. I worked my nuts off to show for certain I’d lost my best last year. He gives fur buyers a bad name.

I didn't before but want to make this clear: "Ray" was a Vietnam Vet but he was not in any way disabled from his service in Vietnam. His "disability" was from working for the US Post Office, specifically from opening the doors on rural mail boxes. ( I kid you not that is what he was on disability for).

She probably helped him switch your coyotes....
