Why do folks....

Feel the need to have their horn beep to assure them that have successfully locked their outfit in a small town parking lot?
I am a fairly mild mannered man but I swear to God the next time it happens in the grocery store parking lot I am gonna
put a dab of Gusto on their door handle.

Some people do it on purpose. Others its because one click does it, some vehicles you can have this disabled. Another set I believe the first click locks one door and the second locks the rest.

When I'm in the city and I'm waiting for the wife and daughter shopping in the mall I get bored.
I go out front and wait for people to walk by my truck and let go the horn alarm.Its like candid camera live.

The town I live in has about 7k people so not exactly small. Crime is not very common here at all but I do lock my truck in the Wally World parking lot or other such places. When I lived in the booming metropolis of Flasher, ND I never locked my truck or house, ever.

If you like that, try sitting in a parking spot with the truck running and in reverse... Watch them lose their minds waiting to get your spot.

Because while you are clicking it the first time a female is asking, "Did you lock the car? I didn't hear it beep."

I always do it, cant hear the locks, but I know for sure when I hear the horn.

Too many junkies , heroine addicts, lurking around here..they are everywhere ,breaking into cars for the change on the console. There are no safe places anymore...They are like the Graffiti painters....you Nevah see them...but they are around. Just hope you don’t walk in front of my truck...lol

Mine is for a couple reasons. First is.... In most cars the first click and no beep is just the doors locking. The second click with beep is the alarm engaging.

Second being... If I get out of the truck and hit the button with the door open it screeches.
My wife loves to get out of the car and as she throws her keys into her feed bag, before she shuts the door, hit the lock button. Then she gets mad when it screeches. It's funny to watch her rummage thru her bag trying to find her keys to shut it off... It's even better when she keeps hitting the button on the wrong fob and it won't shut off.

Third being.... Sometimes I'm just bored and, like above, try to play songs with the button.

I like to hear mine beep but when it beeps I know whats in the console and why I'm making sure its locked. I guess another guy standing there just wonders why I want to hear it beep. I'm ok with that.

When I got my 2007 Dodge Ram the lights flashed and the horn beeped when I locked it with the fob. I got the dealership to disable the horn beep but they couldn't disable the lights flashing. If I need to lock it and not have the lights flash I can do it with the key or from inside. That's what I do when parking at a property to hunt.

if you are sittin waiting fdor the wife and someone starts backin in beside you,put it in drive and slowly pull ahead as they back up and watch them beat the brake pedal wondering why they aint stoppin.

Had an old beat up civic that i dorve to the city,260k miles didn't care about door dings or breakins and it was easy to park. a slightly "off on the head " local street bum would walk around cursing at parked cars, pretty entertaining. One day i was walking through the parking lot and he was letting my little honda have it real good so i started pushing the lock button over and over making the lights flash and the horn blow. This dude lost his mind, thought the car was cursing back, he had never shown any sign of until that moment. He started kicking the bumper repeatedly cursing even louder until the cops showed up. they asked if i wanted to file a report. I told them it was my fault and totaly worth the laugh. I'm giggling right now just thinking about it.

My first outfits, I left the motor running and the door open, and no one would steal them.
