You might find an okay used one for that price. I really doubt there is anything new in that range that's not just a toy.

Breaks my heart I can't use my old Badger long bow anymore. I've been using a extremely old Horton that gets it done. Thank you Pop for willing that to me. DaYooper14 nailed it, go used and get it tight at a place that caters to those that wish to get it done on a budget that fits our way of enjoyment in the blessed woods.

I've killed a lot of critters with a Barnett Recruit. They're under $300.

I worked as an archery tech for a while. For the money the Centerpoint Sniper is a great deal and it falls in your under $300 range.

I bought a CenterPoint Sniper 370 last year from Cabelas...under $300. I am simply amazed and overjoyed with the quality and accuracy of that thing. Google the reviews on it!

I have heard good about the centerpoint. That being said I bought my son the wicked ridge warrior ultra light and I am very impressed with it. Now I want the same xbow lol. Shot a compound fingers only no release all my life but now my shoulder says forget it.

Im on my 3rd year with my sniper 370. I think I paid 240 for it good reviews for a budget xbow. The 3 bolts/arrows are the weak point. I'm shooting piledrivers arrows with 100 grain swackers. Harvested 3 nice does this last season. Shots ranged from 20 yards to 40 very accurate off of a good rest

PSE Fang runs right about $300. Comes complete with everything needed to start shooting.

Bought a PSE Fang for my wife and it is as deadly as the Barnett Recruit but the Fang has a bit more power. The Recruit is much smaller and would be easier to hunt with from a tree stand though. Either one is a great choice.

parker is out of business - website shows them as sold out, but if you can find stock inventory somewhere, you should be able to get them at 50% discount or more.
